For those in the Geelong area, next Wednesday (14th November) the Premiership cup is going to be at Newcomb Library between 11am and noon, with the opportunity to bring your camera along to have a photo taken with the cup. :thumbsu:

I'll be working there at the time, but hope to sneak away from the circ. desk and have my pic taken with the cup as well. :D Might see some of you there. :)

I'm a library technician actually. Librarians require a degree, and three or four years study, whereas library technicians only require a diploma and two years study. :) I could've down the extra study for the librarianship, but I had a career change when I was in my mid 20's, and thought that after four years extra study, my age might go against me in job applications. Both positions are pretty much similar anyway, with the difference being librarians are more managerial, and therefore better paid, whereas techs are more hands on, public orientated, which I enjoy anyway.

Gasp, i will be getting my tattoo done in Geelong that day, hopefully it's done by noon! where abouts is the library? cheers
It's on the Bellarine Highway, heading out towards Queenscliff. I'm assuming you're getting your tattoo down in the centre of Geelong itself. If so, just head east on Ryrie Street, go past the 7-11 near the hospital, past the cemetary, and down the hill. There's two Safeway supermarkets on your left hand side. The library's in the same complex as the second one, and we're pretty much on the corner of the complex, just off Wilsons Road. :) Signage for the library itself is pretty poor, but if you're there, just follow all the signage for the Contours gym, and we're downstairs from there. Either that, or just follow all the Geelong fans. :thumbsu:

D'oh i didn't get there in time. They should take the cup on a tour of country victoria :D
Apparently it'll be touring around the place until mid next month, or so the guy who was 'minding' the cup was saying. Still hasn't been engraved either.

Got a few pics taken with it....was actually the first person in the library to hold it too. :D

Were about 200 people who came in, including a few small school groups and about 120 adults, and kids who skipped class.

Doubt I'd have made FHM. Maybe if they were doing a Halloween edition. :p But yeah, it was great. Just wish they kept the DVD going after it all finished. The afternoon was dead, so I could've passed the time by watching the game again. :D
