Well if he hasn't accepted the offers the club has made and he wants to leave, then this is the BEST outcome for us.

Ok fair enough then, but does anybody think Green is worth as much as ROK, seriously

I am amused by some of our supporters trying to justify that Green is as good as ROK. O'Keefe is an elite player. Green is an excellent player but is a level below O'Keefe. People trot out the "if ROK played in a bad side" line but we were good in the first half of the decade and Green never reached the heights of ROK.

Green is a very good player and SHOULD have won our B&F this year but I think we all agree that pick 16 would be a great result. Sydney clearly dont want to bottom out and Green is a similar player to ROK and could fill his role. People forget Green was a very handy mid sized forward early in his career. I think Sydney probably come out worst in the deal but Green is not a dud. He will be very good for Sydney if this trade is true

I would prefer to lose ROK for nothing and force him to play interstate or stay at the swans.

I know Melbourne has the first pick in the PSD draft but you guys cant afford his salary and he wont be there for your next premiership so i cant see you guys getting him. Therefore he will end up at one of the next three clubs W.C, Freo or Port.

I would never accept Brad Green for him. If we deal with the Hawks i would just keep the picks.

I hope Green will stay to avoid this 3 way deal.

Ha. The only thing that Green has over O'Keefe is that he's been a good player for a longer period of time, which covers your point that he's played more games. Green established himself earlier in his career but then stagnated, but since about 2005 O'Keefe has caught him and gone past him as a player.

You wouldn't have even have considered this arguement at the end of last year, but to Green's credit he's shown some improvement in his game this year, for the first time in about 4 years. O'Keefe past him as a player a long time ago, but this year Green has caught up a little but he's still a fair bit behind him.

Perhaps Hawthorn also giving up someone like Tim Boyle to the Swans would work out better

Who says we can't afford him? We just had over 1 million in salary cap space come up with White and Yze retiring. If he is the only decent one there we will take him, trust me on that.

You can sook all you want about this deal, but what is it all for? If it happens, it happens.

Understandable but Roos has stated that Sydney cant afford to bottom out. That would be the justification of picking up Green. I think Green could be very handy for sydney with their game style and he would work well outside players like Kirk, McVeigh etc. Particularrly at the SCG
