I think we can kill off the dream of picking up Anderson and Talia.

The lastest contract signings mean that Wright and Kerridge are the only players still uncontracted. With 3 live draft selections we need to delist Wright. Kerridge out, Hampton in, means that the list position maths doesn't change. There are no positions left for Anderson and Talia on our senior list.
Kelly to rookie list
Anderson in.
Edit: Talia in
upgrade picks get 1 gun?

I must have missed that.

Please be Bennell
Ha ha same, but it won't be.

I wan't a Bennell or a Yarran, not these might-be-good-even-though-they-can't-get-a-game-with-their-current-club players.

I want the one with leather and reversing camera and a decent bloody motor not some tinny 4 pot underpowered screaming….oh wait, forgive me, I've been arguing cars with a mate recently. But you get what I mean yeah?

Who would we rather? Anderson or Talia?

I'd personally prefer Yarran over both of them.

Of the 3, I'd prefer Anderson, as I think he has the most potential. Not interested in Yarran at all.

That said, the list mathematics says that we won't be getting any of them.

Lowden is the back up to JJ and provides a left handed ruckman option. How much of JJ's form this year might have been created by the perceived pressure of us bringing Lowden in? When did JJ's form really start to take off? When Lowden started playing games in the SANFL...
Didn't JJ credit Podsiadly's support and guidance for his improved form? Surely that's more likely than perceived pressure from Lowden?

Anderson > Talia > Yarran
Okely dokely. No love for Yarran? He is a young, tough, fast, skilled player in my eyes. I don't know jack about Anderson beyond the chit chat, and Talia I reckon might be a bit like Selwood to Geelong. Is he actually a decent AFL level player?

For heaven's sake someone give me a rumor or SOMETHING?!

Trade radio is permanently in between a rambling of bias 'expert' commentary on Victorian trades that may or may not happening and absolutely nothingness.

Someone give me some light, I don't care if it's made up. Are we talking to Yarran? Are we a shot at landing Jed to team up with Jet in the forward 50? Have we swapped our third rounder of 2016 for someone's fourth of 2015 ... Anything?!

Of course we can do that trade. It's no different to the pick swap we did with Geelong last year. The AFL would sign off on that deal in a heartbeat.
Yes, so there is an arbitrage opportunity:
28 and 32 is worth more than 14 to Sydney
14 is worth more than 28 and 32 to us

The AFL system has created value.

I'd go with trying to figure out which player we need to target - whether they are openly available to us or not.

Menzel
Yarran
Anderson
Talia
Mayes
Bennell (not done yet)

If we aren't using all our picks, we need to either upgrade the ones we are going to use or get something for the 2016 draft.

If we don't do any more trades, then at least get pick 14 from Sydney and do a swap of 13 and 14 for a lower pick - so we go in to the draft with something like 5 and 9 :)

I am slightly amused by the fact that we want to chase pick 14 hard, after we have spent a month saying "pick 14 is crap, send him to the draft". Just has nice symmetry!

Totally forgot about getting more 2016 picks. No brainer if we don't need this years.
Looks like we need to fill 3:
1 must be a gun (so either 9 or upgrade to high position)
Talia probably a good idea to sure up both brother for long term.
Anderson must be close (would be annoyed if we don't get him)
if we want 4 push a rookie back and get another gun top 10 or Menzel Bennell or whoever as high profile

I hear you, I need something ! After the recent adversity the club has faced : tiprat gate, losing players, losing coaches tragically, the BS from the afl around fixturng, allowing teams to rest players, the rediculous AA team etc ive about had a gutfull and had been considering taking a step back from footy. I only recently joined bigfooty so I could assess the damage post danger leaving and try find some hope for this trade period. Seems like we are missing targets.

Shit! Another 40 pages just to catch up. At this rate by the time I get to page 1044 there would have been another 40 pages added.
Don't bother, I'll fill you in

Kerridge to Carlton possibly with a pick for anything from pick 20 to menzel or nothing at all.

Mayes might be moving

Carlton chasing everybody with a pulse

Andersen a possibility for either a late first rounder (if excess) to pick 28

Pick swaps possible with both Sydney and St. Kilda. Sydney pick swap would see us get 14 for 28+32

That's about it really

Okay, so there's shuffling, it's not like everyone loses a spot in the line. Sweet.
Here's some detail if it helps, with some examples thrown in.

Draft order right now, let's say this is how it begins on draft night. Draft pick value to the left. The bastards didn't include Suckling and Selwood compo, I'll add that in the next one.

Why does it have to be just one thing? After years of coaching I know the answer of improvement etc was never just on one thing and sometimes they would improve or go backwards and it took a while before I figured out what the whole picture was.
