Doesn't add up. Including Kerridge & Wright we will have lost 7 players. We have 3 players coming in, and 2 rookie upgrades. That leaves 2 vacancies as things stand.

There are still 3 options open.
1 - Delist a contracted player.
2 - Make only 2 live selections in the draft.
3 - Upgrade only one of Kelly/ROB.

Option 2 is the hot favourite.
Which gives the indication that a bundling of picks is on the cards. Seems completely unlikely that we don't use pick 28/32 (whichever we don't use on Seedsman), so the assumption would be that we will use it as trade value of some description.

Option 1: Bundled with Kerridge for Carlton's 20, which then bundled with 13 for an early pick.
Option 2: Kerridge leaves for free effectively, bundle 13 with 28 for a smaller upgrade.
Option 3: Make a big play for some unknown at this point player. Use a couple picks to try make it work.

If one of those is redhorse then you need to take your blinkers off. He came. He posted. He claimed info. He has not been seen since.

Let go of Menzel. He is as likely to land at the AFC as Jake Stringer is!

Last seen at Dodgy Bros Wines in McLaren Vale.

A pick swap is highly likely, once we have finalised all of our player-trades.

2nd rounder next year will hopefully be around the 30 mark.

I'm okay with this, especially if Curtly cements his spot in the side and we get a years use out of him before the selection comes into play.

Remember a 2016 2nd rounder is probably 4 years away (as of today) from making any meaningful impact at AFL level.
And given the state of our list, the trades we've brought in and 2 or 3 first rounders this year - that will be a big mouthful to chew on for some while. EXCITED!

Or GWS only wanted next years second rounder for some reason.
I'm starting to get the feel we may want to use one of Pick 28 or 32 this year specifically on a SA youngster they feel will be there in that range, 28 makes the most sense to retain as the blokes down the road have Pick 29 I think??

Love to see if we can upgrade pick 9 (e.g 9+28 for saints pick 5 if saints don't give 5 for Carlisle and 23). Then either use the two live picks this year or do something creative, for example:

Swap 5 and 32 for Collingwood's 7 and Seedsman (if 32 alone won't get it done, especially if we are only using two live picks);

or trade picks 5 and 13 for Melbournes pick 6 this year and next years first - this would give us two firsts next year which together with our "Danger Dollars" means we can chase a BIG trade next year. But would mean we have to go deep in a shallow draft this year.

Probably expect to make the 8 next year and want some extra currency for academy picks in the event they turn up short. Might as well bank some future coin while they have enough currency to get who they want from the academy this year and have a surplus guy like Hampton who wants out.

So what are we going to do with 28/32 (assuming one goes on seedsman) and anything we get for kerridge? Turn them into 2016 picks via trade?
