Unsure if you've seen Hartigan kick or not? Both shocking but at least Keefe defend. Pretty sure we should worry about the defensive side of players before worrying about if they can dispose of the ball 'once' they get it. They can't get it often if they can't defend...
Hes like the defenders version of Levi Casboult, does everything ok exept kick. I saw him live last year, 3 out on the full and hit out tits like there was no tomorrow. And not sure he's much better defensively than Harto. Not worth it with the 2 years hanging over their heads.

I'd think that Jenkins alone would be enough for Aish, not sure carlton will like that for Yarran but they meant to be into Kerridge, so maybe Kerridge plus Lyons for Yarran. That might be overs for Scharenberg as well, so maybe Henderson and our second. Which means we'll still have a first rounder to take in the draft, but if GC ask for more for Dixon we swap the 2 firsts for Dixon and their end of first round pick (19?). Extremely low chance anything like this will happen though.
Stuff this bloke, way too much cap space/risk and losing picks with not enough upside to what we've already got

Just curious is all, I think he's definitely an upgrade on Cardigan but each to their own

We only gave up picks 34 and 67 to get Jacobs and he was coming off playing 13 games in his 3rd year for the Blues. Doubt we'd get a really good pick for him at all.
Yes but we would have used the Bock compo pick if we still had it. Carlton dragged their feet so we traded that pick for Tambling, and pick 34 was all we had left.

Geelong receive: P.Dangerfield and third round pick
Adelaide receive: S.Motlop, first round pick and second round pick

Melbourne receive: M.Leuenberger and J.Lyons
Brisbane recieve: Second round pick (Adel), second round pick (Melb) and T.Lynch
Adelaide receive: J.Aish, third round pick (Melb) and fourth round pick (Bris)

Robbie Tarrant - Asks for too much coin so we decide to trade for M.Talia (He's worth it and going to be a gun, shut up haters) and M.Hartley in the draft

W'Bulldogs receive: R.Henderson and fourth round pick (worse than ours)
Adelaide receive: M.Talia and fourth round pick (better than theirs)

Our draft picks:
1. Sam Weideman (Key Forward)
2. Stephen Tahana (Mid/Small defender)
3. Jordan Dawson (Med Fwd/Mid)
4. Michael Hartley (Key defender)
5. Jack Firns (Key defender)
6. Cam Wildman (Utility) - Played with him and reminds me a lot of Kerridge but can play as a defender too.

I really don't think we should go after Dixon, I think it's a case of the grass being greener on the other side tbh, Dixon would cost a lot more $ wise and we'd have to give up way more than it's worth, Jenkins is starting to show some really good signs, would rather spend our time on a Motlop/bennell type..

I was of this opinion until a few days ago when they announced subs were most likely gone and an extra interchange player will be allowed. Sounds like most teams will play an extra tall/ruck. If that's the case, Jenkins doesn't get dropped, you play all three (Jacobs/Jenkins/Dixon). We'd be leading the comp by a freaking mile.

Not really, we still have to get it to them.

Jenkins for aish would be a massive win for Brisbane! I'd lose it if we were that stupid.

Its obvious we need a big forward. Its obvious we need outside run. Were going for dixon and yarran. In addition im confident wel land aishy as well, just to add some polish.

Not nearly enough skilled midfielders in there. Should be taking two with our first two picks

We really, really need someone who can take a big contested mark! I think half the reason Sauce can't get more than 6inches of the ground in a lot of games is because he is used as our main exit option from defence. Poor bugger is sat under it way to much, and far more than any of Goldstein,Nicnat,Mumford etc,he gets flogged.
JJ is getting better but is only just learning to beat an opponent 1 on 1. Still not a lead up,Pack crashing moster like he could be one day and is usually only interested if he's within nose-shot of the big sticks. Danger can take a mark around the ground, but I'd rather he be on the ground playing his role as he's i. No way a KPP.

We definitely need another strong marking option. Not specifically a forward, just someone around the ground.
CEY gives us something here at least, but he isn't getting played for some reason.

Its not THAT obvious we need a big forward. We are 3rd for scoring and will have potentially a 50 and 40 goal pairing come seasons end.

Imagine if they had a better skilled, more consistent midfield....
Precisely, we need fast and clean outside movers yesterday.

FWIW, on KB's show this morning he and Greg Denham (?) not sure who he had on at the time, were discussing player movements and basically said that the word was that Scharenberg was strongly rumoured to be leaving Collingwood and that Adelaide was right into him.

Agreed. I've always been of the thought that Jenkins has great ability, and all the tools to be an excellent 2nd key forward, but, he doesn't use his size to his, or the teams advantage. The guy can do some amazing things for a player of his size, but he hasn't been doing the non-negotiable things a guy his size has to do. Since the Carlton game, I've noticed a distinct effort on his behalf to change this. He's still not perfect in that regard, but he's steadily improving. Dixon has had injury problems in every season of his AFL career, and has also had discipline problems. He's a good forward, but with those body issues, not one I'd be comfortable paying $700k for, plus whatever we'd need to give up to obtain him in a trade. If we're going to go and offer somebody that kind of money to come and play for the club, as well as giving up the assets required to obtain that kind of player, then please make it a midfielder with excellent skills and leg speed.

Also if danger goes our need for a speedy mid is only amplified, whilst Dixon is a great player I don't think our list manager will be willing to sell the farm just to add to an already potent forward line when our need for outside speed is so obvious....

I think we're currently 4th for scoring in the AFL with the forward line we already have. IMO, the best way to increase the output of that forward line isn't to add more forwards, it's to improve the delivery they get.
