And you're an easily pleased moron. Your kind are the main reason this club excels at being mediocre.

Heading out to panther park tomorrow?
Is panther park close to Antarctica? I'm down from Cairns for tonight's game, thought I might watch the Ravens play to.
Would have preferred to go to the Parade and watch the legs play 1 week too late.

Considering he has just undergone a shoulder reco Carlton would have to be stupid to pay what Port would want....well it is Carlton
Carlton are going to have a sizeable cleanout. This will create mega cap space. they will have to pay overs to get players there because their shit.

Agreed, unless they move on some players they have no chance.
Not necessarily. There will be enough coin coming off the list this year to be able to afford him.

Moot point anyway as I doubt Dixon will come to Port. Brisbane will pay him $1m a year or something ridiculous.

Soft spot for Brisbane
So after this weeks dismal selections im predicting a few of our fringe players will ask to be traded at seasons end. We would rather have players like vb, wright, mackay, martin and henderson on the list rather than kerridge, grigg, crouch, otten, lyons and cey it seems.
What do these players demand realistically?
Heres my take.
Grigg- a pick in the 30-40 range
M Crouch- a pick in the 20-35 range
Otten- late 30s
Kerridge- 30-40 range
Lyons- late 30s to early 40s
Cey- 25-30s.
Teams will take advantage of our crop of young stars out of contract and not getting games when our shit players get free rides and excessive contracts.
What a shit wah wah post.

That being said, I'd take late 30's for Otten.

How is this a shit wah wah post? Its reality. Do you think that the above players are the future of this football club. If you do then your an imbecile. I was stating that the younger players that keep dominating at sanfl level and continually get overlooked will leave.

Not according to Kane Cornes there isnt.....

Dont forget you've got 2 of your biggest and youngest guns out of contract next season and they'll be getting a reasonable pay increase. There's next to no chance you can afford a guy demanding a large slice of 1mil.

Why? Didn't Judd have a few shoulder recons early in his career. Try and keep up.
Judd is a different build and a lot lighter than Wines. Is physics not a strong point of yours? If you have two strong forces moving in opposite directions and a weak joint trying to join the two and stop momentum it stands to reason it wont be strong enough. Try and keep up! It may take a long time to heal. Thats all. It may also never come good.

Welcome. As others have said, this isn't a great year for stockpiling picks. Where I think the value lies in draft picks this year is that Bris, Syd, GWS all will likely want more picks to pay for their academy and F/S selections. It's players on their fringes we should look at to bolster our list. Mitchell and Jetta (Swans), Lamb, Wilson, Hampton (GWS), Mayes and Aish (BL). These guys may be gettable and fill instant holes in our list.
I agree somewhat as long as they are low pick for young and underused players like Hampton and Wilson but I think Aish and a few others will be demanding to high a price and want to high a wage. We should be looking at he's and Gold Coast player not getting a chance

While I don't believe anything yet... He may not be interested in the money. Not that'd I'd hold my breath. He may not like QLD, he may also think Brisbane are a bad year from disappearing....

But given it'd likely need a trade with a decent player attached some salary will move. A fringe player or two may get squeezed. I think the million dollar figure is a bit of a stretch anyway. Who knows he may really like Hinkley too.

I wasn't aware Kane Cornes was our football manager.

So how do Freo afford $700k for Dixon? How do Hawthorn manage to keep their list together & add AA defenders to their squad? How do Sydney seem to sign massive contracts every year? How did Geelong keep everyone together? Our squad/our salary cap is no different to theirs and we'd have no more issues than anyone else, and yet Geelong can offer massive deals to Dangerfield & Henderson, whilst attracting Caddy and Clark in the last 2 years (yes I realise their retirements coming up). Hawthorn add Frawley to their squad whilst losing noone of note. How could you have offered Cameron a $800k 7 year contract last year knowing that Dangerfield, Walker, Sloane, Laird et al were out of contract and wanting to keep them all?

Not that it really matters but you say goodbye to Cornes, Butcher, Logan (still getting a senior salary) and probably Moore and bang, theres over $1m of cap space right there. Add Carlile to the vets list, delist Mitchell, one of Redden & Shaw and theres another $3-400k of cap space. Next year we have Boak, Gray & Westhoff as vet eligible, theres another $360k of cap space. Monfries & Schulz likely gone, theres another $800k. Not to mention the salary cap keeps growing. Its not stagnant or getting smaller.

So yes, we may need to lose a fringe player or maybe two to fit him in. Who's more likely to win Port a premiership? Dixon or someone like Andrew Moore or Aaron Young? I know who I'd be choosing.
