Hartley with a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the draft is quite possibly number 2 off the list. And cheaply.

Focus on trading for Scharenberg and Motlop. Class and speed respectively. Long term prospects.

If we could get these three and just upgrade rookies otherwise... I'd call it a huge win.
Sounds good to me.

Fantasy scenarios of landing 4 or 5 of Dixon/Carlisle, Motlop, Aish, Scharenberg, Hampton, Wilson et al are just unrealistic.

Can someone tell me the single most successful trade period on paper, by any one club?

Am I missing something? Carlisle wants out because his club is terrible.

And he wants to go to Carlton? The only reason I can possibly think of is that he shares the first four letters of his surname with them.

Insightful. Keeps it simple.

That's crazy. The club's still have all the power
Not sure how you can see it like that i think the classic example is Tom Boyd leaving GWS im sure if the club had any power they would have demanded a player like Bontempeili and if the Bulldogs wouldn't come to the party would have traded him to the highest bidder

Tend to agree that we need a KPF to help cover Tex and JJ while Dear and Ramsey develop as well as a KPD to help Talia out while Lever and Hartigan develop and give some depth there. The other obvious area is outside speed.

In a heartbeat
They would demand more though.
Would be interesting to see a statistical comparison between the two. Only 1 year apart aren't they?
In a heartbeat? Why? What does Menzel give us that Kerridge doesn't? Menzel will probably just come then sit in the ressies while DMack, VB and Wright are selected above him too

Maybe they would want more... and yes they are one year apart

Lynch - Jenkins - Cameron
Menzel - Walker - Betts

That forward line would be dangerous...

Gives us another forward option. Is skillful and marks well for his size.
Would get rid of one of our glut of contested ball mids

Menzel oozes class.
We have lacked genuine class/Alec Guinness in recent years. Kerridge is a bit of a Crowbot. Sure, he has had a few great games, kicking goals, but my feel is that Menzel would serve us better in the long run.

That's not to say I wouldn't rather trade certain other players before Kedge...I was simply answering a question.

Yep, mentioned him awhile ago since we were supposedly into him a year or two ago. Small and not lightening quick, but has a good kick on him. Could be a nice Wright replacement up forward, or across half back.
