Maybe stop the pity party and grow a pair?

We have the capital to be major players and if we can't get the deals done then maybe it's not time for boo hoo not our fault.

The art of business is persuasion, coercion, haggling and closing deals. That's the job.
Id throw 400 k infront of cockatoo and a 4 yr deal. Darwin is closer to adelaide than geelong. We have just delisted wilson.. Maybe our need for outside run is on its way.

Needs one of these :p??? Personally wouldn't mind Toumpas.
My issue with Toumpas is his cost compared to his output. If he cost us our second round pick, it'd be worth evaluating when you compared what else we had a chance at but if he cost more then maybe not. I mean if it was a straight swap for Matt Crouch I'd want something decent back pick wise

Rumours on our board that Lowden could be coming to Richmond. Apparently sat at the richmond table at the Brownlow (I don't have confirmation on this) and is good mates with Dimma.

I know he's only been with you guys for a year, but what would it take to lure him back to Melbourne?
Take Mackay and he's free

I think a three way trade with Carlton & Geelong makes some sense.

Danger, Henderson, Menzel maybe even Gibbs (although I doubt it) + pick swaps.

If we can pick Toumpas up for a third round pick or possibly even a second (depending on what we get from GFC), I would love Toumps to be given a shot. Kid's talent was so clear playing seniors in the SANFL, couldn't have just disappeared in such a short space of time. Came into the draft and had a hip op straight away, was always going to require some nurturing. Give him a go, good outside depth if nothing else.

Highly unlikely to work. For starters, Geelong would need to give up 1st in 2016 and 2nd in 2015 to us, 1st in 2015 to Carlton, get Dangerfield and Henderson in return, then we'd need to convince Carlton to let us have T. Menzel in that deal in exchange for a 3rd round pick/Lyons/Kerridge/Grigg from us, when they're only offering up Yarran. Plus it's more picks than Geelong wants to part with, and we end up with less than we could get by doing the trades separately.

Who will have better picks left - cats or port?

How do Geelong give up more picks this way than in two separate transactions? Either way they start out with the same picks and are bringing in two players.
Geelong doesn't want to give up any picks at all, was my point. For them, finding a way to put Adelaide and Carlton together in a three way trade is the single chance they have of getting Henderson in trade as well as Dangerfield, but for Adelaide there is no advantage to that, because we make out better by conducting individual trades with Geelong over Dangerfield, and Carlton for T. Menzel or Yarran or whomever.

Cats aren't going to have any first round picks for the next two years, that's a certainty - both to us, or 1 each to us and Carlton provided they also give us an A grade under 25 player, and probably won't have a second round pick this year either, as that is likely off to West Coast for Scooter Selwood when they also match his RFA offer.

Oh yeah, I agree. I actually think a 3 way trade is a great way of disguising who's getting screwed (eg. Brisbane in the Polec three way). If negotiations turn bad the Crows might end up opting for this rather than trading Danger for pick 9 and copping a pasting from their supporters.

I doubt the cats will land all 3 players as planned as they appear to have forgotten about the matching process for rfa's :)

No, no they won't. They'll get Dangerfield and Selwood, but Henderson is now beyond them unless they take back some of the 'untouchable' tags.

The rumour ;) is that Henderson has already been told, similar situation to Gorringe and Port except they actually did tell him rather than let him drift in the wind.
