Was only basing on the fact that they desperately need a key forward and Vickery and Lyons are wasted in the magoos, agree its all tealeaves and spitballs this time of year, just fun to see if anything like it comes true. No harm no foul Dark Lord.
When it comes to trading players, the safest assumption is that no player will be traded from the AFC unless they specifically request to be traded. The only exception to this rule in the last 15 years is Bernie Vince and he was traded due to a number of exceptional circumstances - Adelaide's need to get into the 1st round after the Tiprat penalties, his habit of cruising through his on-field performances, and the club tiring of him getting into trouble with his off-field antics. Adelaide are not averse to trading, but their trades only ever involve draft picks and players who want to leave of their own accord.
Right now, the only player who appears likely to be requesting a trade is Dangerfield (assuming the club matches his FA offer). That's not to say that clubs can't & won't be trying to entice some of our players to leave, possibly resulting in a changing landscape as the season progresses, but for now Dangerfield appears the only player likely to be found in the departure lounge.
The players most commonly "traded" here on BigFooty (gotta love Playstation Trading) are Lyons and JJ. JJ has never shown any indications of wanting to leave and Lyons has proven himself loyal to the Crows, despite being wooed by other clubs (most notably Melbourne). I would suggest that it's highly unlikely that either player will be going anywhere, any time soon.
While Brisbane have a noted need for a KPP forward, it's highly unlikely that the AFC would trade JJ (unless he wants to leave). Together with Tex & Betts he forms a 3-pronged attack which is arguably the best the club has ever had - the only competition coming from the Modra/Robran/Jarman combination from our premiership years. We don't have a readily identifiable replacement if JJ were to leave - JPod will be retired, Lowden may have kicked 3 goals in his only AFL game but he's very much an unknown quantity (and we haven't even seen him at SANFL level yet), that just leaves 1st year players in Dear, Ramsey & McGovern... While Aish would definitely strengthen our midfield, the loss of JJ would weaken our forward line to a much greater degree.
