Get in Watts ear. You can see there is something to work on just needs to not be Melbourne*

*said the same thing about Tambling :(
I'd just avoid Watts like the plague unless we can get him really cheap, like 2nd rounder or lower.

As I said, no harm in it given the lack of real trades to discuss. I just think it's unrealistic to suggest trading players like JJ & Lyons, given the club's history. These trades sound great on paper (or computer screens), but the reality is that there's almost no chance of them happening as the players have to sign off on the trades and none of the players listed have shown any indication of wanting to leave. In Lyons' case, the very opposite is true - he's had offers and decided to stay loyal to Adelaide.
True, but if Lyons stays on the outer this year the odds on him requesting a trade have to go up. Best for both parties.
On that basis i think discussion of potential deals for him have plenty of merit. With that said i dont think there's a chance in hell of getting Aish for Lyons and a second rounder.

I don't know what's keeping Lyons here, but if he's perma-sub/ressies for yet another season, I'd suggest he's a huge chance to be traded. We are well stocked with his type. He would have almost zero value if he spends most of the year in the 2s though.

Agree with some of your sentiments re Jenkins, though I believe we would trade him (or others) vince style if it means improving the squad. The "new guard" has shown it isn't afraid to go in a different direction to that of the past (eg tex captain), so it's not hard to imagine a different approach to list management/trading.

What we have done over the past 15 years hasn't delivered a premiership after all.

Didn't you tell us Walsh had guaranteed Lyons he was best 22 that's why he signed for 2 years :)
Absolutely. Happy to put my hand up on that one and admit I got it wrong.

Now I just cannot understand why the hell Lyons signed? Can't get a game in the side and we still have Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Sam Kerridge all waiting in the wings. Plus he is fighting with Mitch Grigg for a spot in the 22.

Had guarantees of senior football at 3 other clubs. Baffling to me.

I'd take Toumpas, but not Watts. Watts has been with Melbourne for 7 years now, he is what he is, and will always be that. Watts wasn't a stand out in his draft year, he had a great under 18 tournament that made him stand out, but before that he wasn't a stand out, he just found form at the right time, when he was bigger than everyone else.

We should've gone for M Talia last off season. We desperately needed another mature KPD on our list (many were saying this pre trade period). He was on the outer, would've come relatively cheap, had the DT link, and was slightly diff in style to DT/Hartigan so would've been complementary to their style and all 3 could've played against tall forward lines. If we get an injury to a tall defender now we are screwed in the short term.

Yarran would be an awesome get for the right price.

Ok, so let's take our hopeful hats off.

If you had to give one solitary pick (no additional pick or player swaps) what would L Henderson, Yarran, Aish be worth? They are all the right 'type' of target.

I'd give our first rounder for Henderson.

To be honest... I'm not fussed on James Aish or Yarran.
