Scenario 1. (Dream scenario) Danger stays. Aish nominates crows as his club of choice. We trade lyons and sam shaw to carlton for yarran and fourth round pick. We give lions a first round pick for aish. We offer a lucrative offer to jake carlisle and he accepts. We trade jenkins and wright for him and a second round pick.
We gain: aish, carlisle and yarran. Another 2nd round pick, another 4th round pick.
We lose: 1st round pick, lyons, wright, jenkins, shaw, $$.

Scenario 2. Danger wants out. We dont match offer from rival club. We receive compo pick. Onselling to brisbane for aish. We go hard at henderson or carlisle with big $$ offer and trade out younger/ fringe players plus first round pick to get the deal done. Noble weaves his magic and we get 2 early second round picks by cutting the dead wood.

Scenario 3. Danger wants out, we match offer from rival club. We trade him with a third round pick to either;
Carlton for yarran and henderson.
Geelong for motlop and cockatoo.
Hawthorn for brad hill and paul puopolo.
Collingwood for first round pick and grundy.
Essendon for carlisle and first round pick.

I won't go thru all of it but this part is way off sorry.

I doubt Jenkins and Wright gets anywhere near Carlisle…let alone throwing in their 2nd rounder as well!!

Am I missing something about Carlisle? I definitely think he's good but unless he spent ample time in the backlines last year (which I'm not sure I can recall to any accurate degree), he only managed 27 goals for the year.

Watts would be handy as a 3rd tall defender right now with Cheney out.
Honestly, I'm not sure that he offers much that we don't get from Kelly. That's a really sad indictment on Watts - saying that after 7 years in the system, having been drafted at #1, he's completely interchangeable - with a 2nd year player, still on our rookie list, with just one AFL game to his name.

He is a classy user of the ball. Kelly obviously a lot harder at it.

Not sure how much advantage there is to being "classy" if you don't have the intestinal fortitude required to win the ball in the first place.

Not saying you're wrong.. just that the comparison between the two is uncomfortably close, given Watts' record.

Don't be silly. Watts look horrible because the team Round him is horrible. In a gun side, he would thrive. Crap players look much better in good sides than they do in bad sides.

watts would be a very good player in our defensive unit.

Sometimes crap players are just crap players, regardless of which team they play for. Watts has the skills to be very good, but he's never going to be a top footballer when he hears footsteps the way he did last Saturday.

What about the players in Melbourne that look good despite the team they are playing in?

Watts has had enough chances to show he can make, he's just not that good.

In a good side, he would become a very competent player. He isn't and hasn't every been in a good side.

Until he is in a good side, you are simply judging him on his current output.

Over the past 10 years, the crows have had some very ordanary players look good in good sides. When we have had crap years, those players have been found out.

Soft spot for Brisbane
Let me do a dream scenario.

Collingwood offers Danger $1m. We match. We agree to trade him for Collingwood's first and second and Scharenberg.

We have picks eight, 14, 24, 30 and 46.

We trade 8, 30 and Lyon for Carlisle. We trade Kerridge and 14 for Gibbs. We trade 24 and Jenkins for Aish. We trade 46 for Schoenmakers and 60. We trade 60 for Gorringe.

We add height at all ends and real quality in the mids. Plus we take a few late, speculative picks and upgrade rookies.

There, done.

Dream scenario is keep Danger and give peanuts for Aish. We should trade Lyons if Danger stays, but he is under contract. He would be worth a lot more to another club than us.

I think we are going to have big problems matching for Danger. Can we bluff match? I don't know how it works exactly. I think he could get 1.2-1.3m.

Gibbs has a 5 year contract, a new house and is having a child this year, he will stay. Murphy is gone imo.

We must keep Kerridge because I don't think he will show is true value until next year, possibly late this year. He will be a great player for us. Don't want another Gunston situation.

Schoenmakers is the last thing we need. Crumbles under pressure.

Gorringe... we already have Lowden.

Absolutely. Happy to put my hand up on that one and admit I got it wrong.

Now I just cannot understand why the hell Lyons signed? Can't get a game in the side and we still have Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Sam Kerridge all waiting in the wings. Plus he is fighting with Mitch Grigg for a spot in the 22.

Had guarantees of senior football at 3 other clubs. Baffling to me.
You seen his girlfriend? Damm.

Sorry - it is all dream scenario. It is completely unrealistic, and if you're hoping or expecting any of those could happen in the off-season, you're likely to be pretty disappointed.
We can all have dreams cant we? Isnt this thread called possible trades? I think with fagan, rucciuto, noble and walsh at the helm are dark days of invisibility at the trade period will be a distant memory.

I think people seriously undervalue what Yarran could bring to our side. His pace and ability to set up the play on a wing or off half back would be awesome for us. His bad games are when he is played deep in defence for Carlton. Release him and profit.
