Won't happen. Grigg wont be rated as highly by the Hawks as Anderson is, plus Anderson is contracted.

Menzel + 20 for 13 + 32
Anderson + 37 for 20 + 50
Hampton for 2016 2nd

Leaves us with 9, 37, Menzel, Anderson, Hampton + whatever else we get from the Danger deal (I have nfi) for Danger and our first 3 picks.

Leaves us with a LOT more depth to work with, which is what we need.
Standby for meltdown, but that wouldn't be too bad an outcome.

I don't know if anyone reads the Sunday Mail any more but I just flicked through and saw Chris McDermott's article on the Crows and the list of guys he thinks we should keep. If anyone had posted that list on here they would have got 312 abusive posts within 5 minutes , and fair enough too. Seriously if he and Rooch are the best football journalistic knowledge that we have in this state then heaven help us.

Gotta feeling we will try draft and build a star instead of buying one....

2 first round picks gives good odds!

Lever at pick 14!
IMO will be a future captain and will be a star (upgraded version of Ben hart)

So I back in whatever the club does
Cripes there is a lack of respect for some of our past champions on here.

Ben Hart was one our greatest players. He performed in Grand Finals, and could easily have won a norm smith.

Lever looks the goods, but let's not give him the "upgrade on Ben Hart" tag quite yet - ok?

I don't want to go near Seedsman. I just hate squibing contests so much. If its your turn to go its your turn to go. I'm not asking for a Jonathan brown or Scott Selwood effort, but I expect the player to have a red hot go.

Ideally in this order
Redden
Anderson
Menzel
Hampton

But in reality redden is very unlikely, we could pull off Hampton + another 2 players.
Why on earth do we want/people intent getting a player that has, not once but 2wice, clearly said he doesnt want to come to us

Would like to see this round 1

F betts jenkins Cameron
Hf lynch walker menzel
C smith Sloane Anderson
Hb Hampton harrigan lever
B brown talia laird
RR Jacobs Thompson b.crouch
Int m.crouch Douglas Henderson knight

Would have put bennell in too but think it's less realistic we will get him.

Edit. Missed knight!

Where is Knight? He needs to be on the bench at least.

That team is brutal, honestly 2017 onwards that team right there would be pushing top 4. Dangerfield or not, it'll be fun smacking Geelong year after year with a team like this. I'd travel to Geelong just to see danger walking off the ground after we've just belted them.

Got injured in the first 3 minutes when he was playing reserves in his last year in 2006. Limped off and sat on the bench. Got his mate from over the fence to go and get him KFC from up the road and bring it back. He literally sat on the bench eating a Zinger and chips. The assistant coach came over and said what are you doing, if you continue this rubbish then you're finished. He said "Well I guess that's what happens to me then" and kept eating. Never played again, reckon he only played a handful of games that year.

Great bloke from what I've heard though and is doing well for himself now.

I love reading/talking football but this site does send you loopy.

I understand some posters are very passionate about Anderson, but I agree that not everyone has to be into him. And yes, I have read the argument x 50 that until you see him play you don't understand how good he is, but considering he hasn't been on the park that often, you can forgive people for not examining archive footage.

However, two points

1. Injuries are bad, a player that gets persistent injuries is called injury prone, and this is not a good thing. Those posters who keep excusing Jed from playing games because he was injured, please stop. Injures do not protect player value. An injured players value is zero on the field, see Shaw. Also injuries detract from player trade value, see Polec, not worth a straight 1st round due to injury history.

2. Also, the game of trading is not to give fair value, Hawks have a great side because they pick up players in the draft for less than they are worth: Gunston. The point of trade is not to slap down your best and fairest offer first up. The point is for him to declare he wants to go to your club and his agent campaigns while AFC offer sweet FA, finally settling on something mediocre, because the opposition club knows that is all they will get. Or at least that's what happens to AFC.

Oh and 3 for good measure, shock horror if Cats are forced to trade some talent to get in some picks to satisfy other clubs they are trying to fleece, some posters need to stop giving them the excuse they don't have currency, it's up to them to get it, by giving something up.

How would you know?

Doesn't mean he wasn't a lurker. I lurked for a few years before I joined up to post.

Still not one serious mention of Troy Menzel possibly leaving Carlton in the press. He's contracted to Carlton next year.

Anyone still think there is something brewing here, or is the 'talk' BS?
Might be a case of we asked and got told "no", so it's not gone any further than when we first showed interest.
