Possible trades

I read with interest in the Herald Sun last week how the journo's are going through every club who is not playing finals in 2003.

Part of their assesment is a possible trade with other clubs.

I noticed in the Geelong write up their possible trade was Luke Livingston and 4th pick for James Bartell and St.Kilda's was Mat Allan and 3rd pick for Heath Black.

Would look at both of these deals, especially if we could use another player (maybe Prenda) with Allan to get Black.

Any thoughts??

Livingston + (something better than 4th round Pick) = Bartel

Matthew Allan is not wanted at St Kilda if he costs anything more than Steve Lawrence.

Trading Black in any deal for him is simply not an option, unless we are outrageously compensated, and that won't happen.

Lawrence for Allan. Recieved a mixed reaction on TBV, mostly good. To be honest, it wasn't "we want it Lawrence", it was all "If we get a pickled ham for Allan and Allison, I'd be rapt".

I wouldn't be throwing Prendergast into any trade like that. I don't really care what the Saints gave up for Black, fact is he hasn't done as well as they would've hoped, had a bit of trouble at the club and practically all Saints fans seem to want to trade him.

Allan is damaged goods, more so than Black and a lot older but ruckmen are worth more than running players so that gap narrows a bit.

The Blues have invested a bit in Justin Murphy and not got the results mainly because he doesn't like coaches as a rule. It is possible another coach can get him to be consistent as there is no doubting he is highly talented. Murphy and Allan for Lawrence and Black or just Murphy and Allan for Black if that seems out of line. I am sure Murph has a good rapport with Aaron Hamill and he would set a good example as far as trying his guts out.

Allan for Black makes sense to me. The Blues get a tough midfielder and the Saints get a ruckman to work with their young tall timber. Could be a good trade

Everton saying this got a mixed reaction on TBV is like saying Kangaroo Jack got mixed reviews! Just who on TBV was in favour of this deal?

Would rather pick up Misiti to be honest and the guy who suggested we pick up Misiti with a late pre-season pick at least thinks about how to minimize cost...

Yes I've seen the thread on TBV and thought you may have been a tad optimistic about the numbers of those in favour Everton.
