Autopsy Post 2021 Grand Final Western Bulldogs game review, the good the bad and the ugly, come talk about it here!

The grand final is over & season 2021 is done and dusted, what a roller coaster ride it was with the team exceeding the expectations of many. Disappointing to end the way it did especially with the complete stop in momentum. Some hard calls to be made regarding the list however there’s still a lot of upside in the team and with a bit of tuning they will be up and about next season.

Some discussion points in the game

Daniel's miskicks and turnovers resulting in crucial momentum swinging goals
Cordy exposed on the backline
Hanan turning over the ball at a crucial time
Wood being cooked
Midfield coming to a complete stop

Didn’t understand the Cordy over Gardner selection, need another KPD , a 1st ruck and play Daniel in the middle from now on.

Really disappointing way to finish, but hopefully it burns and motivates the players.

Thought the Cordy inclusion was odd - we went way too risky at times out of defence, lacked bite in attack and desperately need a ruckman.

Lost it in the middle and the ruck. Sam power take note.

Great finals series and a lot to be proud of. Much work to do though

Baz's clanger in the third quarter is what turned the game, but there are no excuses for what happened in the first quarter with our awful entries.

The ruck contest cost us in the end though, Melbourne scored a GF record of 7 goals from the centre and they sharked an increidble 9 of our hitouts while we managed just 2.

Onto 2022 with hopefully a better ruck setup.

Can't feel any worse for Treloar.

They looked like they wanted it more. They were harder at the ball & broke through tackles way too easily.
That last 45 minutes was some of the most uncompetitive stuff I have seen in a long time.
Congratulations to Melbourne, deserving premiers but bitterly disappointed with our second half.

Can't really point to a significant number of errors in that run. Melbourne were just incredible. Nobody was stopping Petracca then.

Felt lime we were a team that hit the wall with all the travelling and extra match and quarantine we had.

Just so disappointing to be up that and have such a decent chance.

Genuinely haven't been this disappointed in the team in a while.

Might be a bit over-the-top but I'm just not sure how we can play so poorly in the last 45 minutes.

Some efforts were disgusting to watch. Namely Bailey Smith letting Salem run right through him and pick up the ball. Several others.

People might say that Melbourne were incredibly good. They were. But it's the way we let them waltz out the middle that hit me where it hurts
