For me, post R16 trades:

Team value 23.5m + 123k in the bank

DEF: Rozee, Martin, Zorko, Sheezel, Mills, Hardeman
MID: Bont, Kennedy, Naicos, Serong, Green, Cerra, Docherty, Daniel (McCarthy, Johnson)
RUC: Gawn, Xerri
FWD: Baz, Macrae, Jackson, Warner, Rankine, Keays

Might get Docherty to put in the backline, but need to prioritise the last defender upgrade for now - NWM, Sinclair, Jaicos etc. the preferred options if cash will permit.
Hoping to be able to do Johnson downgrade, Hardeman upgrade.

Interested in GC, Saints, Swans players.

Post Byes

DEF: NWM, Rozee, Ash, Holmes, Mills, McKercher
MID: Dawson, Brayshaw, B.Smith, Daicos, Bont, Libba, Butters, Cerra
RUC: Xerri, Marshall
FWD: Kennedy, Martin, Petracca, Warner, S.Darcy, Daniel

Next week going to probably get an upgrade done on Daniel to either Whitfield or Sheezel. Then its probably just holding onto Mills and McKercher until they stop scoring like premiums. Cerra and Libba could also do with an upgrade, and maybe get a better ruck.

Post Byes

DEF: NWM, Rozee, Sheez, Sinclair, Dale, McKercher
MID: Dawson, Holmes, Naicos, Serong, Bont, Cerra, Long, Doc
RUC: Xerri, Marshall
FWD: Smith, Kennedy, Martin, Macrae, Jackson, S.Darcy
$24.7m & $0 itb

Probs Cerra/Serong > Caldwell/Green

Would like to get bye averages posted for interest

So my current team as itll more than likely go into round 16?

Team value $24.68mil + $70k ITB

DEF: NWM, Sheezel, Holmes, Rozee, JDaicos, Mills (McCarthy, SEH)
MID: Dawson, Brayshaw, NDaicos, Cerra, Bont, Petracca, Long, McKercher (Allan, ZJohnson)
RUCK: Xerri, Marshall (AReid)
FWD: Smith, Martin, Miers, Jackson, Darcy, Daniel (EHewett, Tauru)
UTL: (Boxshall)

Early plans are:
Cerra to Caldwell/Gulden
Some rookie fix up to get in Rowston, either Hewett or Boxshall depending on who is named and BEs, etc

Bench is not awful, 4 playing rookies who still have plenty of cash to make plus about 400k to take off Hewetts head sitting there.
At least ive got no rookies on field, but I reckon McCarthy will be good enough to field for the short term anyway

By hitting a "completed team" already, unfortunately made the luxury trade of Berg out to Dawson but the game's the game haha

TV: $24.796M + 18k ITB

This is my team after trades this week (so at the end of the byes):

DEF: NWM, Sinc, Roz, Holmes, Zorko, Kerch
MID: Daws, Naicos, Bray, Caldwell, Bont, Cerra, Docherty, Long
RUC: X, Marsh
FWD: Baz, Kennedy, Chad, CD, Trac, LJ

My post bye team

DEF: Sheeze, Sinc, Dale, A Roberts, Mills, Kerch
MID: Dawson, Bray, Naicos, Green, Bont, Hewett, Dunks, Long
RUC: X, Cameron
FWD: Baz, Kennedy, Trac, Darcy, Daniel, Lord

Long will be upgraded next week to Errol, Clug or Caldwell (was gonna get Errol this week but wanted his price to drop, but it won’t drop as much after last night lol)

Gonna be hard to split those three based on their next five
Clug has Port, Blues, Dogs, Suns, Pies (although he’s a tag risk for the next two which is a slight flag)
Caldwell has Suns, Tigs, Giants, Dogs, Swans
Errol has Freo, Saints, North, Giants and Dons

Roberts, Mills and Kerch are still scoring tidy, Lord will stay until he’s dropped because there’s zero other options at that price

Interested to know what everyone did over the main Bye period. I thought I went OK until I put it in a table now know why I'm doing so poorly. What am I compared against out there?

Squad value $23,477K at the end of Round 11 (before 3 trades)
Was going to wait until Round 19 and get Gawn back in, but bit the bullet this week instead and got Grundy thank goodness and moved Jackson FWD. Richards was good so far (except this week), but should have gone Kennedy in hindsight. happy to have McKercher, Brayshaw, Mills maybe. Was travelling OK before the Byes too.
Squad value to come , but so far $24149K - added $672k - still have $3,666 on the bench. Just not competitive!

Stuck out on the west coast of Thailand, no computer.

Team Value 24.4
Back: NWM, Sheez, Sinclair, Dale, Jaicos, Whitfield
Mid: Dawson, Rozee, Brayshaw, Holmes, Daicos, Cerra, Bont, Kerch
Ruck: X, Marshall
Forward: Baz, Martin, Trac, Warner, Ranks, Daniel

Forgot Flanders isn’t a forward so can’t trade him in this week.
Most probably trades are going to be
Johnson > Rowston
Cerra > Caldwell

Eying off Gulden but, weakest links tends to be in the forward line at the moment. Probably aim for Kennedy week after

Positive is that going into next week, I’ll have all McCarthy, Liddy, May, Tauru and Rowston meaning my cash gen will still be healthy. I should be able to look at getting 23rd/24th premos throughout the rest of the season

DEF: Rozee, Holmes, Zorko, Sinclair, Jaicos, Mills
MID: Dawson, Brayshaw, Naicos, Long, Docherty, Bergman, McKercher, McCarthy/Daniel
RUC: Xerri, Marshall
FWD: B.Smith, N.Martin, M.Kennedy, Miers, Sam Darcy, Dyl.Moore

This is before rd 17 trades because I don't know what to trade right now and it will be dependent on team sheets. E.g. if Docherty is dropped, he's a must trade. If not, Might trade out Long or Daniel. My midfield is weak, so could go Long or Doch to Bont with 1 of the trades and get 1 of Rowston or Archer May with the other. Right now Daniel is my 7th forward without having finished my midfield, so it's either keep him as the 7th forward or trade in Archer May for the bench and move Daniel to mids temporarily.

Ranked 596th overall, team value of 24.3M and 314k remaining.

Trades this week are:
1. Hardeman -> Rowston via DPP
2. Long -> Caldwell

DEF - Nas, N.Martin, Rozee, Zork, Sheez, Ash (Gray, Buss)
MID - Dawson, Bray, Naicos, Caldwell, Cerra, Bont, Doc, McCarthy (Z.Johnson, Rowston)
RUCK - X, RoMa (Boyd)
FWD - Baz, Kennedy, LJ, Macrae, Trac, Daniel (May, West)
UTL - Liddy

Good spot I think?

Post this weeks trades of Cerra/Long to Caldwell/Butters:

DEF - NWM, Martin, Rozee, Sheezel, Dale, Sinclair
MID - Dawson, Brayshaw, Daicos, Caldwell, Bont, Butters, Doch, McCarthy
RUC - Marshall, Xerri
FWD - Smith, Kennedy, Macrae, Petracca, Darcy, Daniel

Team value 24.6m

Interested in any thoughts in my team.

Particularly around what you think I should do with trades next week. The three defensive red dots are really annoying me by limiting my ability to DPP through the utility spot. I've been meaning to trade one of them out to a FWD/MID for weeks now, but have put it off for points on field through the byes.

Do you think it's time to refresh my bench and my team by doing a double downgrade next week, or by doing something like a rookie fix up and trading Mills to Flanders - or should I focus on upgrading Mills, Colby, Darcy and Warner and leave the bench, noting this would leave no cash to upgrade McCarthy in the near future?

Ranked 2k, would like to make it into tripe figure rank, but hat / car are out of the picture so most important are a number of cash leagues and my home league where I'm currently placed top 4 across the board and so in space for a big finals run and hopefully some championships.

Also, with a team like mine which has a number of mid pricers or under performing premos (Mills, McKercher, McCarthy, Warner, Darcy) i'm interested in peoples thoughts on whether I should focus in the long term on:

  • upgrades to uber premiums; or
  • upgrading bench players to fallen premiums in order to loop.

Starting to wonder if it would be a better play to try and grab players like Flanders, Daniels, JHF etc as bench players in the 600-700k range and run loops in each line for the rest of the season, only upgrading to Ubers where possible after that.

Is it possible that running loops at D6/7 M8/9 and F6/7 would deliver more points on field than just hunting for premiums, even where doing so risks leaving one of those mid pricers / failed premiums like Mills, McKercher, Warner, Darcy on field with no loop cover in say Round 24?
