There was a time (not that long ago) that teams used to 'sing' their club song after a victory rather than just grunt it.

These days all club songs sound the same when sung in the dressing rooms... just a monotone staccato grunt... no tune... just mindless bogan, breathless, blurts like they are trying to get it over and done with as soon as possible.

It's just another chapter in the slow, inevitable shift from loving the sport and the club to treating footy like a business.

You want to be mates with everyone these days, sell yourself to the higher bidder and most importantly, get yourself in the media ASAP.

The solution is clear
You don't get points for wins anymore
When you win, you get the opportunity to sing your song in front of judges of 'The Voice' and you get 1 premiership point per judge that hits their button to turn around.

Go back to the Good Old Days (trademark) when the coach wouldn't let the players sing it even if they won, because they had a bad last quarter, or 'mucked around with that short passing rubbish!'.

OP, didn’t you start a thread a few weeks ago complaining that they occasionally sing the national anthem at the football?

I’m finding it very hard to get a read on your musical opinions.
