Psotives:

Nelson - Some poor disposal, but it was happening to Shuey and Hurn as well. Looked to run, has some aggression in him (might be the only one who does) and can lay a decent tackle.

Barrass - Seemed to be getting smashed with balls coming in, was in a huge amount of contests and did ok

Darling - I guess he got some goals, but wasn't great

Masten - Actually hit some targets by foot and laid tackles, ran all day

Negatives:

JK - Had to kick those set shots, inexcusable in a game like that

Vardy - Absolutely useless, would have preferred we played no ruckmen and just went for the oppositions tap. What a liability.

Duggan - Shit disposal, absolutely shit, side step didn't fool anyone and he neevr has any idea what his goal is

Priddis - Shit game, just shit and slow and had zero impact while we got smashed

Shuey - Couldn't hold the ball, great last quarter but it was too late, poor disposal early on ruined a lot of plays

Delivery forward - 2 on 1s ... 3 on 1s ... it didn't matter, they went for it. The amount of leads that were ruined by the ball coming in requiring small players to stop and prop and have to go up and get it was pathetic

Butler - Nope, great last week and pathetic today, no run created, ever. Wasn't as good defensively.

Sheed - Needs to be in the WAFL, he's not fast enough in the brain or the legs

Seriously when are they going to learn you can't play tall on the MCG......

Forward line was way too tall Hawthorn just waltzed the ball out.

Skills were deplorable.
You can, just not with the shithouse delivery, directed at the same player every single time, that happened today.

Can we break Cuz out of prison? He could probably captain coach to be honest
Squibs like Darling and Redden should be shown footage of him circa 2001 when we were getting spanked every week, he had more heart than anyone I've ever seen. I would bring him back to the club after his stint and teach a thing or two about work rate and courage.

First time in 30 years I have felt like not supporting this club anymore, I normally put aside the time to watch the games live but that time is now over...I'm planning my life not around watching this team play from now on...I'm pretty much done.

Shittest cherry picking 4 goal performance you'll ever see from Darling.
A liability when the ball hits the deck and slippery hands/rubber chest. He can't hold his feet...Ever.

Masten with the usual heartless, brainless 26 touches.
Once the heat is out of the game he looks like a champ.

Hill oh Hill you downhill skier...**** off you shit stain.
I was at the game and thought Darling was one of our best. Him and Kennedy had the ball kicked on their heads almost every time it was kicked to them inside 50 with 2 on 1 most times and he had to work extremely hard for his 4 goals. He also ran his guts out off of the ball.

I think you need to come to terms with that Nic doesn't change anything, he has played in and been just as soft and pathetic as the rest of the group in big games.
I'm just saying don't think NN is the answer for this group because he isn't.
That's just crap

Do you know what the issue is? That wasn't pretty today.

As someone pointed out we don't attack the player with the ball. I find this coaching strategy bizarre and ridiculous at the same time. It is a stupid tactic that puts very little pressure on the ball carrier.

Gutless scared footy. Heard footsteps all game and spilled the ball. Like Norf have a culture of dropping leads and losing close games we are as scared of the MCG as the teams of 1987-88. We expect to lose and then bring it about. Very little leadership shown by our boys.

Come troll us here opposition supporters. We deserve it.

Absolutely ******* pathetic.
I wont sledge you guys, jeez, my team the Pies aren't exactly setting the world on fire at present. I cant fathom how you have a pretty good team on paper, great wins at home, but you simply cannot handle the MCG, its very puzzling. The Hawks were ripe for the picking, just cant figure out how you go missing on the G, every single game, very strange indeed.!

I'm sure he worked very hard to cherry pick the goals out the back...He's still a liability when the ball hits the deck and he seems to have lost some of his speed and agility.
You would have seen more live than I did on TV but I just don't rate him at all.

Mmm...the heartwarming smell of shit in the bed after a trip the MCG.

We should just forfeit these going forward. Less damaging to our percentage and the frail mental state of our piss poor football team.

We are a joke of a club and this Hawks at the MCG is going to be the running punchline.

**** this group of gormless campaigners. You would think they would have personal pride if nothing else but even that is beyond them.

That's just crap

You are missing the point, how does the intent and hardness at the contest improve in the other 21 players when Nic plays?
And hasn't Nic been a large part of this group for the last 6 years? The players have been called soft for the last 8 years.
I am saying with him in the side doesn't change anything other than winning a few more clearances.

The club hasn't been ruthless in years.

That starts with Nisbett, who said almost a decade ago that his job was a young man's game. And then watched his obvious replacement leave and go and remake Freo.

Simmo seems very loyal to the players he has decided are in his preferred 22 and everyone else has limited chance.

Years ago there were concerns expressed about building a side around Priddis, around guys like Masten and around drafting guys like Gaff. Nice, high possession, low damage type players. And here we are.

Simmo has shaped this side the way he wants it to be. And it's slow, a bit one dimensional and, let's be honest, with NN out how many of our players are we genuinely excited to watch each week? How many of our players do we think will turn the game or do something unexpected/exciting?

We are a modest side, full of solid citizens, who do what they are told and help old ladies cross the street. It's almost like we are a club lead by a borderline pensioner, have a bland player as coach and a captain that never speaks. :)

That was shit and heads should roll. Instead we'll probably see Giles and Hutch in for Vardy and Sheed - + Mitchell if fit.

I agree with everything you said but the bolded part was just crap, Nic Nat has never been soft and has never shirked a contest.

At risk of a card but wondering whether theres an argument at investing time in developing and selecting an away team. Identify certain players who forever reason are limited away and pick them only for home. The 38 list restricts options no doubt but its a possible way to deal with things

I'm not sure it's we're soft I think we are just too slow to impact the play. Shuey isn't soft and tries his heart out but he's the only one with a bit of speed and size about him.

Masten/LeCras/Butler/Hill/Redden/etc. are no less deserving to play than the boys in the WAFL. Anything less than 4 changes and we're a joke.
We need EXACTLY the kind of changes Freo made after round 2.

Out: Anyone over 24 that isn't in our best 10-15 players.
In: Anyone playing League WAFL that fits the position.

We look so slow and have no intent at the man or ball. Too much corralling has been a problem for us for years and Gerard Healy was spot on when he brought it up. We continually lose to teams that show more intent than us and only seem to be able to play well when things are on our terms. I don't know what the answers are but as a unit, we seem to be repeating the same things over and over and the mix is definitely wrong. That said, there seem to be limited options coming through but we need to start blooding some young guys and sticking with them to get some games into them.

On a positive, I thought Nelson was good and Duggan was better. Made some mistakes but getting more involved and we need to keep these guys in the team.
