At risk of a card but wondering whether theres an argument at investing time in developing and selecting an away team. Identify certain players who forever reason are limited away and pick them only for home. The 38 list restricts options no doubt but its a possible way to deal with things

Not a bad idea, but we a poor at blooding our twos. They struggle in the WAFL and most never end up playing any meaningful role at AFL level. It's puzzling and frustrating for all of us. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing and expecting a different result? This game was a carbon copy of the last two.

I'm sure he worked very hard to cherry pick the goals out the back...He's still a liability when the ball hits the deck and he seems to have lost some of his speed and agility.
You would have seen more live than I did on TV but I just don't rate him at all.

He got in position to cherry pick those goals by running his ass off. The problem today was our midfield, as it has been for the past 5 years. Forwards can't be expected to kick a score with that garbage ball coming in, and defenders can't be expected to limit the opposition score with the clean ball coming in.

As someone pointed out we don't attack the player with the ball. I find this coaching strategy bizarre and ridiculous at the same time. It is a stupid tactic that puts very little pressure on the ball carrier.

There was 1 that stood out like dogs balls. Centre bounce - hawk player going to grab it on the outer side of the square. Gaff back peddled to cover his man instead of contesting the ball and getting contact. Wt actual f. This was just symbolic of our piss weak attitude or poor plan

Masten?????? The dud absolutely pied 3 inside 50s in the first quarter - 1 out on the bloody full and then gave away a stupid free kick in front of goal being reckless. So thats 9 points right there. No positives for him at all.

The free kick was dubious and his intent was exactly what we needed. The commentators talk of "delicate tackles" was just another joke of a call in what was overall a pathetic cheerleading effort for 4 quarters.

* Sack Simmo (Moose1414 will provide a 500 word essay on why).
* Drop Masten, LeCras, Redden, Sheed, Priddis, JK, Butler, Nelson e.g. to the WAFL and replace them with youth who certainly aren't ready.
* Take the captaincy away from Shannon Hurn.
* Sack the entire coaching and recruitment stuff for this loss.
* We won't win the premiership, are too soft, won't make the top 8 e.g.
* Pessimstic attitude for the next decade.
* Ask ndot to pick our next coach.

That should be about it, now to the real stuff.

We aren't like certain other team boards, we're fairly welcoming as long as you aren't a dick.

Stupid idea but I guess if this continues you should raise it with Simmo.

Or find a ground in WA that is exactly the same size and dimensions as the MCG, get the team to train there relentlessly prior to any G game, get them used to the same type ground. Might be worth a shot, nothing too lose eh.

I think we would be acting a bit arrogantly to go away from the 2 ruck strategy.

If these 2 guys play well we are a chance to break even with the better ruck divisions and get on top late in games vs lesser rucks. One out we will get towelled by the better rucks and have no advantage against rucks of similar quality.

I think we are better off taking smaller steps to get used to the loss of ruck dominance of Naita than making our on ballers go completely cold turkey.

Thought this earlier in the week and surprise, surprise McEvoy gave us a bath.

Muddled thinking in the MC and Coaching group translates straight out onto the field.

The team on the field was pantsed, but so was the team off the field. Simpson possibly coaching for his coaching career this year. He's got to rejuvenate this team, get rid of spuds like Masten, Lecras that have failed in finals, face the fact that perhaps Priddis and Butler are finished and get some steel into the team - not easily or quickly done. Changing the two ruck strategy a massive blunder, as was playing Wellingham on ball and McGovern forward - all these moves flopped spectacularly.

You see, CM is going through some tough times supporting his team, but supporting them he still is. I think a few other eagles supporters need to go through this character building exercise.

Game style is down hill. we must contest.
we need players that can/will contest. LeCras, Masten and I suspect Hill will never.
Hurn is a gentleman - we need a mongrel to lead by example. A fired up Nic Nat is the closest we have.
Redden etc have added nothing that we need just more of the same.
So if you ponder our list management you conclude that we consistently pick soft kids since and including masten
where does the coach sit - is he making best use of the marshmallows or adding to the problem. I think the list is the bigger problem.
