Agree, and King had a crazy look in his eyes, like he was really angry. Jonno Brown and Nick Riewoldt tried to calm him down, but he wouldn't be calmed. Very disconcerting for a media person. I thought he was gonna lose it at one stage.
Maybe (as usual) his tight ill fitting clothes was making him angry.

Get a new wardrobe.

Really? Where you at the game?

I only ask because if you were and you heard the booing and saw the salty tears from the rampaging bomber nimrods then you'd feel like we won. The meltdown was glorious and i couldn't have wished it on a bigger bunch of pricks. Go Pies!

no Kirby. sat very frustrated in front of the tv.

on the booing, I don't care either way except it was the Anzac presentation and that what annoyed me. how can anyone sook and whinge on anzac day?

Bomber fans can get as salty as they want.

They're obviously completely ignoring the fact that the game should have been over at quarter time.

9 scoring shots to 1 and their 1 goal took a miracle sot from the boundary while we missed set shots directly in front and running into open goals.

Score should have been at LEAST 7.2 to 1 goal at quarter time.

Agree.

I’ve seen some Essendon posters saying they hold no fear of us now... they were only in the game because we missed so many easy chances and they nailed very tough chances. When we ‘click’ later in the year, we will blow them off the park. :)
Correct we are a much better side them then. Funnily enough my mates that are Essendon supporters said the opposite, we left them in it and when we click be hard to stop. Could of been 50 up at quarter time . Kicked 4 points late and a couple out on the full

When our structure loses shape they managed to come back into it which is how they want to play.

I think it is premature that people are calling for Sidey to be dropped because his input is down on last year. However, lets keep in mind that he played centre/rover last year and this year he has been predominantly half forward and wing.

2018 Average Stats per game for first 6 rounds
38.6 possessions; 11.8 cont poss; 74.5% DE; 4.3 mks; 4 tackles; 4 I50's; 5.3 clearances; 2.5 centre clearances; 3 stoppages; 1.5 RB50's; 1 goal per game

2019 Average Stats per game for first 6 rounds
24.5 possessions; 7 cont poss; 77.5% DE; 6 mks; 2.3 tackles; 3.8 I50's; 1.6 clearances; 0.5 centre clearances; 1.1 stoppages; 2 RB50's; 0.33 goal per game

Move him back into the midfield (+ he runs both ways) and push Beams to the wing/half forward
And just think he can improve

Look at the players who’s output is going to increase in the coming weeks and we look a very scary proposition once guys settle into new roles.

The most important thing I can see is being interstate I don’t get to a lot of live games but was there yesterday and I saw sheer fear in the faces of Essendon defence in that first quarter and it was due to the level of pressure , Hurley shit himself on 3 occasions we must keep that manic pressure as a staple and not get ahead of ourselves , if that first quarter pressure even continued for 1 more quarter yesterday the game is over

From my POV I'm happy because you guys got out to a 6 goal lead at one point and we fought back to lose by less than a goal against the flag favourites. Doesn't matter whether or not it "should have been over", it wasn't, and it was pleasing to run out the game like we did.

I thought the umpiring was questionable. However, the soft calls that went the Bombers way resulted in shots at goal (and they took their chances) and kept them in touch.

Could see from the first 30 mins that our best blows them away. It seemed we took our foot off the gas and stopped the hard running.

BTW I thought Sidebottom’s disposal was ordinary for much of the game.

Essendon were the better team for 3-quarters of the game.

We got the lesson, and the 4 points.

Poor goal kicking let Essendon into the game.

We have awful second quarters. We tend to the start every game well, and then let teams back into it. We don’t have the killer mentality yet.

I would like us to roll De GOEY through the midfield in the second quarter just to hold the momentum.

It was an epic meltdown on their part, I was cheesed off at the shocking behaviour immediately post game but looking back on it now, hilarious. Was like watching 20,000 toddlers simultaneously having a tantrum in the lolly aisle at the supermarket when mummy said no to buying a chocolate bar.

Pies got the win, no fairytale ending for the Bombers. Too bad, so sad. The chant at the end to drown out the booing flogs was brilliant, best response.

Nearly cost us the game kicking 0-3. 2 that most female aflw players would kick
Live and learn re.. life is not always about reaching your destination.. it's the journey re.. the bloke has just hit his 20 game tally..

What were they saying about Lukosius? Best player in the last 10 yrs or some shit like that re.. what's his nick? Latrocious. Looks at times like the bloke couldn't kick the pill into a quarry..

I absolutely hate how people think umpiring costs teams the game. There is bad calls in EVERY single game of football, there will never be a perfect game where every single call is right. Never. Umpiring is rarely the reason why a team loses.

Having a look at the bombers review thread basically 95% of them are blaming the umpires, which is poor, no mention of the rubbish hold against Langdon on Baguley that resulted in a direct goal.

How can they possibly say they deserved to win when they did not lead the whole game. Collingwood lead 100% of the game, had more scoring shots, more disposals, more inside 50s, better disposal efficiency. I don't care if they won 3 out of 4 quarters, we built that lead in the first quarter and credit has to be given to us for getting that lead that ultimately was enough to get us the win.

That one late where it should of been incorrect disposal to Guelfi? I think? yeah it was there but it was 30m out from Collingwoods goals, who is to say Essendon would of got a goal with only 1 minute left when clearly we would of been flooding the defence. So to say that decision cost them the game is rubbish.

That’s fine.

But so many blaming the umpires seems to be misplaced anger. The umpiring over the course of the game was pretty ok. They were pretty consistent with everything bar push in the back. Which is all you can ask for.

I just think like yourself, Bombers fans should be happy they were even in the game enough to complain about the umpiring. Because the game should have been 100% over long before then.

Look i'm not going to touch on the umpiring, this is your thread. You guys were in front the whole day, when that happens, the time deserves to win. It was a cracking game though and I enjoyed it very much.

I have a Hawthorn supporting mate who would take extreme issue with your theory on umpiring interference.

A couple of weeks ago versus Footscray.

Hawthorn were 30 points or so up with 5 mins to go in the last.

Footscray got gifted 3 soft frees and 3 bullshit 50 meter penalties.

The fix is in, ratings demand close games and so the AFL is doing its best to accommodate.

Anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves big time.

Seems to be a real issue where you can win the hitouts 44-19 but lose clearances 40-29. No doubt they're working on it, but it is disappointing to see it keep happening.

Hawthorn are probably the most protected club in terms of umpiring, they get one bad game and they're up in arms
