Autopsy Post Mortem vs Essendon

Game was lost in the transitions. Number of times they got to go end to end was embarrassing.

I love bucks but it's almost fatal for him.

His structure isn't working and he has all but a full list. Elliott and wells who were the most underdone were two of the better.

Senior blokes like a Reid, Pendles and Adams just either didn't work hard enough or were flat. pendles for the first time in his career looks slow to me.
Pendles is either injured or mentally off.

Adams was played in the fwd line FFS, why? Pressure?

Nothing to do with what you said but I'll add Fasolo is a one way runner, I was disgusted by some of his efforts today. Also, I assume it's been mentioned a lot, probably after selection but why the **** do we bring in Cox on a wet day?

Here is another fact.
brown, ball. Krakeour, Toovey, McCaffer(2), Keefe, scharenberg (2)
Freeman all 8 players did ACL"s which I would speculate that's 18months for a player to get back in to match form.
Two players tested positive to drugs and missed 2 years
Reid missed close two 2 years of football
Last year Swan played 5 minutes.

This is all buckleys fault!
So you accept that the cattle was the issue today?
Treloar, Pendlebury, Grundy, Sidebottom, Adams, Howe, Moore, Elliot, Fasolo, Reid.
All just duds obviously.
As for the two druggies, we could have recruited two other players who deserved a place on an AFL list, instead we kept two players who sh@t in their own nest and put their football careers on a two year hold. You happy with that?

Its funny but I've been a huge Sidebottom critic for quite a few years only to be typically shot down...people now starting to see he is severely overrated.

Skills are average, no pressure and a perrenial downhill skier. Never gets near a man. No tackle pressure at all.

Ship off to a premiership favorite as he'll be able to cheat there. Take the high draft pick and move on.

You'll keep popping up when Sidey has an average day, trying to convince everyone about your profound insight, and then promptly disappear when he holds his own...which he does most weeks.

Don't you ever get tired of playing this game?

Just watched Pendles deny he is injured.
In Pendulbury we trust.

Luckily I haven't had to dissapear much in the last 5 years....

I'm not sure why people are being so hard on the game plan. It delivered 66 inside 50's and kept them to 43. Issue is our efficiency once we get in there going at 39% and 1 goal 8 points from I50 set shots. And this mostly from guys you'd have higher expectations of. Not sure how any game plan can deal with that or what Bucks is expected to do match day to arrest it.

Positives
Elliott, Wells, Smith

Negatives
too many to count

What no one mentions is that we are the 4th youngest list in the league and it's expected we win every game? Our worst loss is 19pts while having more inside 50s and shots at goal than our opposition in nearly every game. Better goal kicking accuracy and we'd be top 4.

One of his best games. Ramsay had a shocker, was hoping we'd move Maynard to Cocko Fantastico. We also didn't move Reid onto that flaming limp wrist celebrator Daniher

Cocko Fantastico! :D:thumbsu:

WHE will only get better loki04 don't judge him on today's game........also don't forget he won us our only game this year.

He is a keeper IMO.
Problem is I see him as a finisher, the cream for an assault on a flag. An Issac Smith if you like.

In a putrid team/gameplan he's as useful as a campaigner full of cracked ice.

Maybe a bit harsh there but I'm sure you get the way I'm drifting.:D

Actually I can see a plan unfolding.........

Everyone here is calling for Bucks head (although I think as someone who we recruited on the basis of 'playing with a big club' and subsequently failed to put a side good enough to win a GF around, we probably did owe him the chance to coach - that said he has had long enough and it five years now and we have gone backwards each one).

Later this week the pundits will be talking about how bad the Pies are and offering odds on Geelong toweling us by 100+ points

Bucks and the side will have a deep and meaningful heart to heart (maybe they do some goal shooting practice too)

They play against the cats like a team possessed and win - the pressure is off

The following week the pundits are on about how the Pies have turned around

We go into the game against the Blues with a modicum of confidence

The goalkicking yips return, Pendles goes down with an injury, the approach to the forward line resumes its approximation to the scatter theory, and we forget tackling - to go down by 7 goals to the worst team in the AFL.

Bucks announces he can't take it anymore and apologises to the fans for 5 years of pure torture, and wishes the next coach all the best, while Harvs gets a chance to take the reins until the end of the year.

Eddie goes vermilion and his kids ask him to resign before he has a coronary event. He is given appropriate accolades and thanks by the club for his tenure and for lifting us out of the quagmire of the Tony Shaw, Kevin Rose, era.

Harvs tells the boys to just had out and enjoy their footy for the rest of the season - they start playing exhilarating precise footy, but just fail to make the finals (despite beating all finalists on the way in).

......I am losing it....
Actually this sounds a lot like a gambling fix. The pattern is almost bankable. Now that would be a naughty turn of events

It was a very sad day for our club alright. I truly thought we would get up for that. I had to run around like a blue arsed fly today to get back from work to watch it.. then they served me up that shite again. Something broke in me today. I won't be getting back on the Bucks Bus from here now CFC. It's done. I just want change asap.. the longer we tread water the further away our future chances of a flag get. The longer Bucks stays.. the more pain he will endure.. and we with him.

My beautiful dog died recently from tick poisoning. She had the anti-venom but as it was her second time being bitten by a paralysis tick.. she was older and it didnt work this time.. it just slowed it down. So I watched her suffer for 3 days. I thought she was on the improve a couple of times; then she'd get worse. Took her back to the vet a couple of times for more treatment, discussed putting her down, we both decided she had too much life in her and we should give her the chance. End result was a slow horrible death that leaves me feeling guilty and still wakes me up in the mornings. Reminds me a lot of how I've been feeling as a supporter about the situation with Bucks and our whole club.

Sorry to hear about your dog mate.

It's only a matter of time for Bucks........it pains me to say but our players are not playing for him after six years.

The whole set up and message seems robotic and system orientated, these guys do not look like they are enjoying footy and seem to have a harness on, Wells had only 6 or so players come to him with his first goal for the club, there should have been 17 of them! no excuses! may not seem like a big deal but it tells you a lot.
These guys are making a million mistakes playing to a supposed strict structure, they are missing a ton of shots on goal when going for the safest avenue to goal.
If you are going to have these end results at least do it playing with freedom and risk at least then you can justify the frailties of the end result.

My best buddy, a blues supporter no less said pretty much the same thing, NQR. Buckley and the other coaches are like the elephant in the room. The club can no longer put a spin on it, it hasn't worked. They have to own it.

I was really hoping for a spirit-lifting, come-back Collingwood win there in that last quarter (even as a "hated Carlton supporter")! I hate Essendon and all that Sheedy-crap scarf waving; Joe Daniher also gives me the sh1ts! Because the wife loves the Pies I watch them a bit and have a little soft-spot for a few of the Pies players (teenage son just loves Jeremy Howe but doesn't like to watch them because "they always lose") and I can see why it is almost getting to the point where there will be a protest outside the Holden Centre. A win against Carlton might be a little lift, but I just think now it's a sure thing that Bucks will resign or be sacked before the year is out! If he goes I would expect several others to follow. One thing - not that keen on Roos; get Adam Yze from Hawks (or dare I say Brett Ratten!).

Hird/Voss/Buckley - all great players and Brownlow winners but ultimately flawed coaches. The only thing that is ultimately good on paper is ink!

I can feel the passion in your post. I'm just as frusrtated as you and every pies supporter on this forum.
When I look at our team, on paper, we are not a 1-4 team.
When you're 17 points up against Richmond and Fasolo misses 40m directly out. Mayne tackles Rance and misses 20m out how is that buckleys fault?

Same storey against the Swans 3 shots for goals inside 40 and we missed them all late in the last quarter.

Played all over the saints for the first quarter and a half and we were only up by a few points. Again poor conversion for goals

And today we were asleep at the wheel and gave the Bombers a 3 goal start which ended up being the margin.
Reid left the ball behind when he attacked it and it resulted in a goal. We kicked 1.8 v 5.5 from set shots. Again how is that buckleys fault?

I'm not even angry. Every loss takes us one step closer to a clean out of our coaching panel.

Yep, I'm at that point. Call me a bad supporter if you want, I don't give a crap. If wanting to improve our club by cleaning out the cancer ASAP makes me a bad supporter I'll own it, and proudly.

How many o those in 50's were quality?
A lot were balls knocked to ground at th 45-50 metre mark after being hacked in there widely.
I agree with you that our set shots kill us. But the in 50 stat is not the be all and end all of what really has happened on the ground.
Buckley was the best kick in the game.
Buckley invested the kicking test used to test potential recruits.
That we have such awful kicking skills surely says something about his coaching style or priorities.

Agree with this , there is something to develop in Ramsay. Has pace and can kick. Qualities we lack. Will improve and will remain part of the 22 for mine.
I tend to agree with you. He may well develop into a really good player. But he can get that development in the VFL.
Currently, he is a liability, and I understand he is young and coming off an ACL.

Time to find out whether Scharenburg is going to make it. It should be experiment time now. Let's find out who can play and who can't.

Play Daicos, Brown, McCarthy etc.

They can hardly do any worse.
