I'm not sure why people are being so hard on the game plan. It delivered 66 inside 50's and kept them to 43. Issue is our efficiency once we get in there going at 39% and 1 goal 8 points from I50 set shots. And this mostly from guys you'd have higher expectations of. Not sure how any game plan can deal with that or what Bucks is expected to do match day to arrest it.

Stats are wonderful jackcass but we all watched that game.

Something is not gelling in our team and that is on the coach unfortunately.

If the Anzacday medalist today had kicked straight your stat would be irrelevant.

I'm not even angry. Every loss takes us one step closer to a clean out of our coaching panel.

Yep, I'm at that point. Call me a bad supporter if you want, I don't give a crap. If wanting to improve our club by cleaning out the cancer ASAP makes me a bad supporter I'll own it, and proudly.
That fork in the road appears to be here.

It was a very sad day for our club alright. I truly thought we would get up for that. I had to run around like a blue arsed fly today to get back from work to watch it.. then they served me up that shite again. Something broke in me today. I won't be getting back on the Bucks Bus from here now CFC. It's done. I just want change asap.. the longer we tread water the further away our future chances of a flag get. The longer Bucks stays.. the more pain he will endure.. and we with him.

My beautiful dog died recently from tick poisoning. She had the anti-venom but as it was her second time being bitten by a paralysis tick.. she was older and it didnt work this time.. it just slowed it down. So I watched her suffer for 3 days. I thought she was on the improve a couple of times; then she'd get worse. Took her back to the vet a couple of times for more treatment, discussed putting her down, we both decided she had too much life in her and we should give her the chance. End result was a slow horrible death that leaves me feeling guilty and still wakes me up in the mornings. Reminds me a lot of how I've been feeling as a supporter about the situation with Bucks and our whole club.
The only vice i don't have is gambling.

If Ess where paying $3 i was going to put a bet on. Especially after Cox was named on a wet day, normally that's a good thing.:D

Each win hurts less for me. I expect to lose and we do lose. I was up and about when we fought back but at no time did I expect to win. I was right. We don't win anymore. One day we'll have a cracker in front of goal and we'll beat someone but that won't be the norm.

Is it possible that we could finish lower than last year? That will be a six year slide, amazing! I didn't think it was possible during the pre-season but it is looking possible now!

Bucks is gonski, play the kids that need development.

Making this call round 4/5, shite!

I tend to agree with you. He may well develop into a really good player. But he can get that development in the VFL.
Currently, he is a liability, and I understand he is young and coming off an ACL.

Time to find out whether Scharenburg is going to make it. It should be experiment time now. Let's find out who can play and who can't.

Play Daicos, Brown, McCarthy etc.

They can hardly do any worse.

Agree it's fast approaching the time we 'wipe' the season and play some kids. Problem is all I hear from Bucks is that the players aren't fulfilling his game plan correctly. Aren't executing the structure etc. he's too stubborn to change. I don't think he 'gets' that his plan is half the issue. It stinks.

Mate the way we are going Fogarty will be at our club next year lol.

Instruct players not to handball 8 times once it gets in there to a free player that never eventuates and force a turnover, or how about not pressing all our backs up to the centre so you end up with 36 players in half the ground and thus crowding your 50 when you do go in. those are 2 things we could probably start with.

This team is simply not good enough. Same old shit for the last 3 years.

Is it too much to ask for, for us to kick more goals than behinds.
Haven't kicked more goals than behinds in a match once this year.

I'm ******* sick of seeing us squander our opportunities week after week.

I suspect changes are coming sooner rather than later. This can't go on...
What terrified me most at the press conference was Buckley openly conceding that the players don't listen to him and have gone against all they planned and discussed two weeks in a row. If a coach can't communicate his gameplan to his players then he should not be coach!!

Cox in.... we deserved to lose.
How many more ruddy times....?....
A SPARE RUCK THAT IS A USELESS FORWARD NEVER BLOODY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |:(
Particularly a spare ruck who can't be relied upon to mark the ball under pressure around the ground either.

I've always been a defender of Bucks, like a lot here I've prev thought the criticism was a bit tough and put the blame more on the players for bad skill errors. After all, he's not the one out there missing simple set shots each week.

Today's different. There were a few things that today showed he is not up to it.

- Pendlebury starting the game at full forward and spending a lot of game time there - he's an elite mid Bucks, he's never been a marking forward and never will be.

- Adams forward. Similar issue, he was recruited as an inside mid and is one of the best in the team at that. He can't kick straight, he's not a forward.

I understand there's a need for 'rotations' and whatever other BS that gets focused on but moving two of our best clearance players out of position is just daft.

- Ball movement late in the game. 4 goals down with 10 minutes left is not the time for backwards kick to kick to run down the clock. Not sure if the blame is on the coach or senior players for this.

- Cox selection. I want him to do well at this level, but a recall on a day that was forecast to be wet is stupid. He can't do anything below his knees and guess where the ball ends up in the wet? That said, he was decent in the ruck.

-Handball frenzy in the opening term. No explanation needed.

-Disorganised setup at the start of the second quarter. It might not have been noticeable on the TV but when all the players were set up for the first bounce of the quarter two of our players sprinted off to the bench just before the whistle. They had the whole break to organise positions and the bench, but two players were on the field that had to get off.

This one was a big one for me, when it happened I really lost hope in the team. That in particular is AusKick level stuff... 4 players on the bench. Not hard.

Going forward I'm not even sure what the solution is. Personally, I'll still be attending every game in Melbourne since I've already paid for my membership, there's no point skipping them now.

Just got home from the game and whilst I'm a but deflated about losing on ANZAC day, I can't say I'm surprised. I went into the game expecting what I got. Just continuing the trend of playing just okay, having momentum and not being able to capitalise but then not being unable to stem the flow when the momentum is against us.

This game was almost a carbon copy of the Dogs game. Slow start, fight back, hit the lead, stop, concede a few goals that ultimately ends up being the final margin, and break even for the rest of the game.

I just don't even know what to suggest. Buckley cops shit for bringing in Mason Cox (which did make me scratch my head a little), but if he doesn't pick Cox then he cops shit for not providing support for Darcy Moore so he really can't win.

It's getting desperate now though for Bucks. We're in a business where it's about winning, and 1-4 doesn't help his case whatsoever. Gallant losses (not that all of our losses have been gallant) or even close loses only goes so far. We've lost 4 games by 14, 19, 14 and 18, so we're obviously playing some sort of football that's getting us into positions where we can give ourselves a sniff of a win, but there's always something bleeding obvious hampering us from doing so. Round 1 it was execution going inside 50, Round 2 it was goal kicking, Round 4 I can't really say because I didn't see the game, and today it was goal kicking again. I will give Bucks a nod for one thing, at least he tried something to change the game. Reid going forward didn't really work the way we would've liked, but at least he tried.

On a side note, Treloar, Crisp, Elliott, Howe and Wells can all hold their heads up in my eyes. Alex Fasolo needs to have a good hard look at himself. Also, I know they're young and inexperienced, but Ramsay and Schade one out looked very ordinary at times.

Anywho, not even mad. The season is pretty much a write off now, just gunna have to chip away and hopefully develop.

So you accept that the cattle was the issue today?
Treloar, Pendlebury, Grundy, Sidebottom, Adams, Howe, Moore, Elliot, Fasolo, Reid.
All just duds obviously.
As for the two druggies, we could have recruited two other players who deserved a place on an AFL list, instead we kept two players who sh@t in their own nest and put their football careers on a two year hold. You happy with that?
Can you stop with the two druggies crap.

They were bought for their silence.

I'm not saying that's right but......

Golly gosh. He hasn't had a great year, and perhaps a few commentators over-inflate his tyres from time to time, but the idea of trading away one of the few players at Collingwood who can navigate through heavy traffic seems as wayward as one of our set shots for goal.

Hes lacked consistency this year (more so than usual) but he was actually good today. Not sure why we'd want to off-load him.

Amen...
What the hell?!
There are no spare rucks (kids) rotting away in the VFL/WAFL/SANFL...
Why do recruiters need to continually need to prove what smartarses they are by bringing in these "projects" from Ireland, America or friggin Botswana?!?

I50's are misleading with our game style, 1 forward thrust can produce multiple i50's with the ball bouncing around 45-55 meters with no clean possessions

That's true. Schade was one.

What no one mentions is that we are the 4th youngest list in the league and it's expected we win every game? Our worst loss is 19pts while having more inside 50s and shots at goal than our opposition in nearly every game. Better goal kicking accuracy and we'd be top 4.
wow

Just watched Pendles deny he is injured.
In Pendulbury we trust.
Well footballers never lie, Heater, Didak, Howe & DeGoey are prime examples

He was woeful today. I'm sure the coaching staff are telling him what he needs to do on game day. He may not have the feel for the game at senior level?
I'd like to see him play deep in the forward line and not go past 50m.
If teams run off him and turn it over then we would need to capitalise with a quick kick forward. He needs to keep a good defender accountable and that's not happening.
And why do we kick it to his feet? That's frustrating!

Agreed i think it's more a recruitment issue than Buckley tbh.

IMO Collingwood have chased too many mids, and not enough forwards/defenders...hence the strong midfield delivering plenty of I50 but not enough conversions and also the defence coughs up some easy goals with poor turnovers.

The forwards that HAVE been recruited in White & Mayne haven't delivered. Howe is playing back. Get another quality tall to help Moore and results might be different.

Defender recruited in Dunn isn't playing in the 1's. Question marks over Goldsack, Phillips, Maynard etc still. Again, i think replace 1 or 2 of them with quality rebounding defenders and it would change things a lot.

Also, it doesn't seem Collingwood have drafted enough kids in the last 4-5 years who are making major positive contributions to the team, as opposed to a team like Bulldogs who are getting good value out of some kids.
