Great article.
Most definitely. At the very least it would generate a buzz around the side.Do England throw caution to the wind with one last unlikely shot at clawing this series back?

Or do they wave the white flag and not deal with a potential PR disaster on what is almost certainly a lost cause?

Ben Stokes has been included in England’s ODI squad for the series that follows the Ashes but the allrounder is still waiting on a decision from prosecutors.
Stokes, who last Sunday started playing cricket with New Zealand franchise Canterbury, remains unavailable for internationals but was named in a 16-man squad announced on Thursday.
The England and Wales Cricket Board is waiting to learn if he faces charges for a brawl outside a Bristol club that left another man with a fractured eye socket.
England 16-man ODI squad: Eoin Morgan (capt), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Tom Curran, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
He was a very fine margin from killing someone and yet players/supporters from both sides are worried that his non-selection might affect the Ashes hype.

Not sure how that is viewed in the UK but here I would think it would be Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm and he would be looking at possible prison time. Based on the video, he's hardly going to be able to claim self defence. Now it's in the hands of the coourts to decide if he's guilty or not but the ECB should immediately rule him out of all representative cricket until it has been decided
he'll have some high priced silk who will get him off with some kind of community service order. The damage has already been done for him really.

"We believe that Ben can offer some valuable advice to other members of the community as to how to avoid such situations, and so a custodial sentence would not be appropriate".
then unfortunately Ben is too busy to undertake the programs and would like it postponed until a later date (TBC)
