I just thought it might bring back some memories for you seeing as you were there. I’ve kept almost every stub from every gig I’ve ever attended. I love music waaay more than footy, no comparison for me.

Mine is tour shirts. I have a lot of them. Problem is a little over 10 years ago is when I started working full time and Thrash and Death Metal shirts aren't exactly considered "business attire" so I couldn't wear them every day, unlike at uni. But I still keep buying them, and the collection keeps growing.

I’m not into merch so much but I did buy a TISM tshirt when I saw them in Melbourne last November. Fantastic gig! Machine Gun Fellatio on the same bill were awesome as well.

saw some zoomer concerts over the past few years.

Lil Ugly Mane, Machine Girl, some various metal concerts, kylie minogue (insanely good) all come to mind.

best was probably LCD soundsystem a few years back. really great night.

Was drinking with a couple of guys who'd been to that gig. They came to the Tote to play pool afterwards. I'd just seen Miasmatic Necrosis in the band room. They were great, but I doubt it'd be your thing; gore/grind, they only played about 35 minutes and that was all the material they had, lol. The local support acts were bands I'd seen a few times, and are uniformly excellent (Gutless, Carcinoid).

Not sure if GOAT, but bloody fantastic gig I went to on a whim was The Wonderstuff at ANU Bar - 28 November 1991 according to setlist.fm. Squash match finished at a reasonable time for once so thought I'd pop in. The whole place was heaving and I got sweatier there than I had at squash.
Was also at the infamous Nirvana gig there - they went massive on the back of Smells Like Teen Spirit between tickets going on sale and the gig taking place. Hundreds of people without tickets turned up, glass doors got broken, people tried to get in through the roof (to no avail as there were only admin offices on the top 2 floors).
People were stage diving off the amps and my mate thought he'd give it a go - rugby union front rower with a massive shock of red hair. The crowd below took one look at him and parted like the red sea and he just went face first into the floor. Got up with a broken nose to a big cheer.

I have two entries:

The MC5 and Sun Ra Arkestra in Central Park, Aug 2005

Mark Alm from Mudhoney did most of the vocals for MC5 since Tyner and Smith both died in the 90s (trivia: both died of heart attackes at age 46), Handsome Dick Manitoba also guested

AND it was free :)

Much more recently:

Pat Metheny in Huelva, Spain. Amazing virtuoso, played about 15 different guitars and used a looper. Really impressive and unusually he spoke quite a lot about his childhood and life in music

I saw the Arkestra at Bennett’s Lane in Melbourne in 2012. There were about 30 in the audience. I introduced myself to Marshall Allen after the show - what a legend and a lovely man.

MC5 were an amazing band at their peak, The Stooges before The Stooges.

I also have a bit of Pat Metheny in my music library.

I saw Miles Davis at Hamer Hall in 1988. He sounded a lot like Prince at the time. This is the studio version of one of the tracks he played

Saw Sun Ra Arkestra at Golden Plains this year, one of the highlights, along with Kneecap and Thee Oh Sees (or however the **** they're spelling it these days).
At the age of 100, Marshall Allen has just put out his first album as leader (under his own name)

Saw her at the Hi-Fi in 2008. Was already in her 50s but still a great show. Unfortunately passed away several years later
Can't believe I forgot Sharon Jones. Saw her at the Ballroom in the Belvoir Amphitheatre in the Swan Valley in 2006. Absolute dynamite. Probably the death of a musician that touched me the most.
Funnily enough the night started and finished at the Funk Club, upstairs at the Leederville Hotel, just across the road from Plugger35 's beloved Hip E Club.
