Not the best bike going around by any stretch, but does the job.

Be gentle Freakie. :D I do intend to remove the reflectors and the height of the seat varies depending on where I am riding.

Program changed in January so this year I am pretty much done with so aim to do some fast halves and goal is Busselton next year

Good stuff. I did Busso last year and loved it. The run was about 8k too long though and had to walk it home. Plan to stick to halves now and have entered Torquay.

Good luck.

I missed out on the spot at Busso so ended up doing the NZ Ironman in March. My first one (shocking conditions) but one of the best things I have ever done.

I did Falls Creek as a preparation for NZ. It was a cracker of a day.

Never swam at altitude before so that was a shock. 300 meters in and I thought I was screwed!! Stopped look around and pretty much the whole field stopped. After that the swim was awesome, bike was not too bad the run was intense and difficult and hilly.

Finished in 5.30 odd (PB is 4.59 at Gold Coast 6 months earlier) though given that I had Ironman in 3 weeks I was never going to smash myself and used this race as a final training run.

Will put this race on my calender next year. I

Well done! Any plans for more IM's? I'm doing Shep 70.3 and then either IMA in 2012 or IMChina...

I have done Shep few years ago - it was my least enjoyable 70.3 as the swim is disgusting. I would recommend Gold Coast (which is around the same time) if you do not mind flying up there.

Not sure what I am going to do next - currently looking at Challenge Barcelona (Ironman by another name) in May 2012 with a few mates and then recover in Europe for 4 or 5 weeks.

The other thing that I want to do is a MTB ride from Lahasa to Kathmandu its a 21 day ride covering some amazing terrain including the base camp.

Nothing exciting like you fellas, but great for the general commute/keep fit. First time I've ever owned a proper road bike and even though it's only a cheap bottom-of-the-line one I couldn't believe how much difference it made.

I'm not much of a cyclist by any means, but (now I actually have a decent bike) riding has become an absolute pleasure. I now ride pretty much anywhere that I can have a shower and change clothes at the other end.

I been using bikes for a few years to keep fit, i recently bought my first new bike in 2 years and it was a MTB that cost 60 bucks from kmart. I keep blowing pedals everytime i really push it and it gets pushed....

Need another 2 more gears after top (at least)

Exactly the bike you want for general riding around. :thumbsu: You see so many idiots on fixies and soft-tails riding in completely the wrong environment.
