Ruck bench: White, Curry

Fwd: Brown, Richardson, Murphy, Fevola, Skipworth, Hentschel, Ziebell
Fwd bench: Thorp, Walker (ADE) or any starting rookie

100K left in the bank.

So many Q's and a little hard to judge form from NAB games over here in London as I havent been able to catch any.

Advice appreciated. Really only after league bragging rights.

Peace out.

Midfield is your concern - boom or bust.

personally i'd upgrade one of drummond and lockyer and buy raines with what's left, but big investment in the rucks leaves you exposed.

Fwds are no stranger to injuries either. would like to see you consider houlihan in fwds or backs, downgrade ablett to bartel and upgrade cousins to a cross or cooney.

All power to you... and who knows eh?

B Goddard, N Bock, A Raines, M Maguire, A Mackie, T Harley, N Malceski (S Hill, J Grimes)

C Judd, B Kirk, S Pendlebury, S Higgins, C Bateman, D Rich (H Hartlett, P Dangerfield)

D Petrie, M Kruezer (T Vickery, D Currie)

B Harvey, B Deledio, A Didak, J Porplezia, S Lucas, K Tippett, S Gumbleton (J Ziebell, N Heyne)

How does that look? $22,200 left.

Harley - unlikely to play for a few rounds and better options. Maguire on the park is an ostensibly poor choice.

Hartlett injured and unlikely to play for a while. Like Heyne, ahead of Gumbleton possibly, but I doubt this team will do well.

Therefore, you will probably win the $25K

Loading the ruck division was a decision made today. Not sure I can trust HMac and with Petrie as a Roo's I am hoping he has a massive year and breaks out supercoach wise. I guess with the money from Petrie down to a cheaper option I could get a mid field gun in.

Had Raines in but then hearing whispers he isnt actually in their best 22. How has the rest of his preseason games looked?

My team done a couple of weeks ago but am now looking to make some changes:
B: C.Cornes, Drummond, Gram, Malceski, T.Murphy, Raines, Maguire (A.Smith & Trengove)
M: Hayes, Selwood, K.Cornes, Kerr, Petterd, Rich (Blease, Swift)
R: Hille, Ottens, (Naitanui, Sellar)
F: Pavlich, Franklin, J.Brown, Chapman, Fevola, Lucas, Hansen, (Grant, Gumbleton)

Not sure about Murphy, Maguire, Lucas and Hansen mainly but don't think there is alot on offer other than 1st year guys or also-rans who I consider to be a gamble when playing them on the field to start with.

Any thoughts mcuh appreciated?

Now that I've changed almost every single player in the team several times (with a few non-negotiables like Cox, Judd and for me, Gibbs), here's where I'm at:

Backs: Goddard, Newman, C Cornes, Malceski, Houlihan, Raines, Grimes (S Hill, Suban)

Mids: Bartel, Judd, Gibbs, Griffen, Masten, Rich (Robinson, Beams)

Rucks: Cox, Ottens (White, Jacobs)

Forwards: Pavlich, Deledio, Giansiracusa, Lucas, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell (Gumbleton, T Walker)

All this with still $294k to spend. Sure, it's a work in progress, but I'm starting to like where it's going. I'm agonising over these forward risks, though. I've got the change to turn one of them into a sure thing. But which one? And who? I'd love to find room for Travis Tuck... but I don't want to drop any of those mids. Better change everyone again.

Any advice or general rubbishing welcomed.

My team spent ages on it LOL but im pretty happy with it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hey Kewell7, I'd be inclined to perhaps downgrade one of your megastar midfielders to someone who may have some improvement in them, and upgrade one of your rookie defenders with the cash. You have 4 (off the top of my head) rookie defenders, which means you HAVE to have 2 of them playing every week to avoid 0s.

Then again, my team may suck, so just take it for what it's worth. Your top-end is massive, but you may be exposed at the bottom.

There are Tigers fan who'll tell you that, too, but I can't see it. They have way worse players in their side than Andrew Raines, who I think is pretty solid. Course I'm screwed if he doesn't play.

Don't like it much. Too much injury risk with Franklin, Black, Yarran, Kruizer, Natanui and Luke Hodge all having preseason injuries.

Too many inconsistent players coming of stunning years like Enright, Hodge, Franklin, Ablett.

Poor choice of rookie selections.

Players that should be in every team are; Higgins, Grimes, Cox, Hill and Ziebell. Your missing two.

Sha-weet.... I am thinking of holding onto my $200K surplus. Though this is first time for me and so this may not be sound tactically.

Will Gibbs tag this year?

Gia into Boomer is the most obvious, but I've dropped Lucas and brought Houlihan into the fwds. More good choices at the $350K you'll have in the defenders

If Raines plays he is a SC lock. Gets heaps of it and goes OK with foot. Nothing better than that, but OK and gets plenty of it.

If there was a penalty for douing 360 turns he would be ruled out

Cox and Kreuzer is good to me. Like Petrie - always have, but he's someone I aspire to buy rather than a must have for R1.

Just my thoughts and I note your comkments re HMac - you should know.

Bowden or S Fisher?

Will Gibbs tag this year?

I don't think very often. He's had high-20s touches in the first two NAB games, and is clean, lays tackles, kicks goals, you fricken name it. I think he's gonna go gangbusters this year. Ratts is letting him off the leash.

Regarding Bowden vs S Fisher... the concern is what Bowden's role will be. Bowden WILL have one or two of those insane 20-mark days where he scores 200+ in SC.... but I think he's not their only HBFer any more, and may be used for better AFL purposes up the ground on occasion, that may hurt his SC performance.

spot on. at that price he needs to be a keeper and i think if we go ok he might start to see some bench time, esp at the start of games

Cheers and I think you've sold me on Gibbs.

A little nervous about double dipping (Gibbs and Judd) from the same side who isn't favourite to win the flag or anything.

Well balanced across the team and good depth with only 1 rookie in each position. Really like the unique touches with Embley, Rischa and Gia.

I'm not going Roughy, Hentschel or MacIntosh as I prefer other options but thats just a personal preference.

Good work Mo.:thumbsu:

One question; why no Chad? You spoke highly of him in your last post.
Cheers mate.

With Roughy, Hentschel and Macca is was one of them between S.Johnson, Skipworth and Kreuzer but I obviously decided not to pick any of these three.

Don't really know why no Chad. I probably should have him and will get him but I feel players around him are pretty good too (Drummond and Embley). I guess I was hurt by him last year but he is a superstar and is probably too cheap to pass up on.

My team:

Backs: Newman, P.Burgoyne, C.Cornes, Drummond, Mackie, Myers, Hill (Rance and Suban).
Mids: Bartel, K.Cornes, Kerr, Lewis, Coughlan, Rich (M. Robinson and T.Swift).
Rucks: Cox, Ottens (White and Trengove)
Forward: B.Harvey, Deledio, Richardson, Porplyzia, Alwyn Davey, Skipworth, Wade Thompson (Walker, Gumbleton).

Feedback? Not sure on the injury status of Porplyzia and Coughlan though... and if Lewis is suspended?

Not my actual team but this is a very interesting startegy.
I must admit it is tempting me but i just want to get your thoughts

Backs: B.Goddard, S.Fisher, C.Enright, C.Newman, L.Gilbee, C.Cornes, S.Hill (N.Suabn, J.Petrenko)

Forwards: S.Lucas, J.Riewoldt, R.Houlihan, P.Veszpremi, S.Higgins, H.Skipworth, J.Ziebell (S.Gumbleton, M.Brown)

So basically the strategy here is to go all out on Mids, Backs and Rucks, while spending very smartly on the forward line, trying to increase the amount of money you will have to spend come the first trade period.

Interesting approach, but I still believe that it would ultimately fail, as most of those forwards are not going to average over 100 points, and would not increase enough to trade them all during the season.

This would place a reliance on your other positions, and if injuries/suspension effected them, this whole approach would be in trouble.

I think the 3-3-1-3 approach or something similar is still the best in regards to 500k + players.

First thing Wade Thompson is a rookie listed player so he may not be available for much of the season even though there is a small term slot available due to trengroves addition to the long term injury list. Coughlan has had knee trouble and given his history a very risky proposition. Porplyzia hasn't started full contact drills but the Crows are confident his shoulder will hold up all year but of course they are gonna say that aren't they. Like the stratergy of having a lot of mids in your forward live leaving you the option to bring in the big guns (Buddy, Pav & Riewoldt) later on.

Hope that helped on to my team...

$176,000 in the kitty still. I'm happy with my backs and they probably won't change still unsure about my forward line thinking of swapping goodwin for delidio & Fevola for Roughead or using my kitty to upgrade J Riewoldt to Roughead.

With my mids unsure about T Tuck thinking about C Morton or Haselby.

Love to hear any thoughts...

Not to much change from my last effort, that team still gives me $32,100 to bank. I think I am starting to get my emergencies right, I mean Fremantle are going for youth apprently I hope they pay off.

Anyway anyone want to tell me if I need to make any changes, I'm most worried about the forward line because it doesn't look as strong as the rest of the team although there is good value down front.

THOUGHTS!

Also, do I have the right amount of premium starters or not. It is following the 3, 3, 1, 3 formation so to speak but is it enough.

Again, THOUGHTS!

Not to be mean, but wipe the back 3 lines, and keep only the forward line, your backline doesnt have a topliner in it, and you need up to 3 in a line like that.

You could keep the rucks, I had them a few days ago, still have McIntosh, and Leunberger is too expensive to be an emergency, either play him or trade him down for a young Vickery or White, then upgrade others.

If you dont want to wipe those lines, keep the cheaper players, 350k and under, and get at least 2 500k + players for the backs and mids.
