Bit of bias I know. I could probably sack Fletcher.

along with about 7 others.... crappy side. mcveigh? Presti?

have just come to our country?

Thanks Mate. i thought that at the start about ablett but then decided to put him in anyway.
Think i'm going to keep him...he's being rested in the forward line and if i decide i want him in later it's probably going to take 2 trades, whereas if i have him and decide i dont want him at least i'll have spare money to trade in a rookie for a better player.

Any suggestions to trade yarran for? i'd have 170k to get someone else....

hmm...if i had to pick someone for under that price range i would probs say ben reid from collingwood. more likely to play than yarran, 3rd yr in the system and played all pre season games. will play more down back...wont be a big scorer but will earn you some cash. if you could find maybe an extra 50k youd be lookin at a hentchel or even krakouer from port

Alright changed it a bit. Don't be so harsh on me, I'm a complete newbie at it.

Out: Fletcher, Presti, Polo, McVeigh
In: Brown, Raines, Young, Gibbs

Let's hope my head isn't cut off this time.

mister 2 - I can't find any faults with your line up really. Ziebell may not get a constant game, and you could replace White with Jacobs and save some cash. Apart from that, top team. $200k up your sleeve is never a bad thing.

Backs: Goddard, Gilbee, Cornes, H. Shaw, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Petrenko, Suban)

Midfield: Ablett, Judd, Pendlebury, Dal Santo, Gibbs, Beams (Robinson, Swift)

Rucks: Ottens, McIntosh (Jacobs, Pyke)

Fowards: Pavlich, Deledio, Franklin, S. Johnson, Higgins, Skipworth, M. Brown (T. Walker, Gumbleton)

This is my team I am still tinkering with:

Backs:

Hodge, Adcock, Hunter, Malceski, Myers, Houlihan, Raines (Hill, Suban)

Mids:

K. Cornes, Cousins, Griffen, Cotchin, Hasleby, Masten (Rich, Beams)

Rucks:

Cox, Ottens (Currie, Graham)

Forwards:

Riewoldt, Pavlich, Didak, McKinley, J. Anthony, Higgins, Hentschel (Skipworth, Ziebell)

Comments?

Cotchin has an injury (achilles?), not sure how long he might be out.
Hentschel to start slowly?
Not sure about Hunter - promises so much, doesn't realy deliver imo.

Here is my team, version 137:
Goddard, Cornes C, Taylor, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Broughton, Rance)

Ablett (c), Bartel, Cornes K, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich (Anthony, Robinson)

Cox, Tippett (Jacobs, Spencer)

Pavlich, Deledio, Roughead, Fevola, Lovett, Higgins, Krakouer (Walker, Grant)

$3600 remaining

Campbell. Don't have enough money for the Jonathan variety.

hmm...inconsistent...around that price i'd look at marty clarke...room to grow, improving...and unless you can find some cash im not sure who else there is around that price

not too bad a team cj4e. I'm not sure Hogan will play too much unless there are injuries. Maybe Grant instead? I like Spencer as a cash cow, he will play in the first half of the season.

Here is my team again - I posted it earlier without reading the guidelines on page 1 (my bad).It has taken a few edits to get to this team, but I'm fairly happy with it. Any comments would be appreciated

Gilbee, Bock, Cornes C, Adcock, Houlihan, Raines, Hill (Hurley, Rance)

Ablett (c), Bartel, Cornes K, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich (Anthony, Robinson)

Cox, Tippett (Vickery, Spencer)

Pavlich, Deledio, Lovett, Rioli, McKinley, Higgins, Krakouer (Walker, Grant)

$9400 remaining

still undecided on Ablett vs Judd or Selwood, and upgrade Bock with the difference. Also what about Rioli vs Osborne as both are about the same price

Not a bad team, but I would choose either Ablett or Bartel. I also think there are better options for Kane Corne's price. I also think that Gilbee will not score as well this year, as I think he will be tagged more this year.

I also think that you need another premier backman, someone like Goddard or Sam Fisher.

I also think that Vickery will not play much this year. Possibly consider another bench ruck.

Although not everyone is a fan of him, have you considered Fevola in the fwd line, I think he is in for an awesome year.

Hope this helps.

Would also appreciate any comments on my team:

Backs: Goddard, S. Fisher, H. Scotland, C. Cornes, J. Adcock, R. Houlihan, S. Hill (Rance, Broughton)

Mid: Bartel, Judd, Cross, S. Burgoyne, T. Tuck, C. Ward (Rich, L. Anthony)

Ruck: Cox, H. McIntosh (A. Graham, J. Spencer)

Fwd: Pavlich, J. Brown, Fevola, Higgins, Skipworth, Hentschel, Yarran (Ziebell, M Brown)

I got owned last sseason because I had a crap backline and spent too much money on fowrards, may be a bit of a knee jerk reaction but I have put a lot of money into my Midfield and Backs.

You have got to be kidding right? Are you sure you have been following the NAB Cup and challenge games? He absolutely tore Sydney a new ar5e last weekend!

Well worth the gamble considering his low price. :thumbsu:

I saw the Cup game he played, but not any of the Challenge games. I just wonder if he will take some time to get going again when the season starts, and everything becomes fair dinkum

My latest side (names bolded indicate locked in for Rnd 1, barring injury):
Backs: Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Cornes, Malceski, Raines, Hill (Rance, Suban)
Mids: Ablett, Judd, Selwood, Gibbs, Hasleby, Rich (Anthony, Robinson)
Rucks: Ottens, McIntosh (Currie, Spencer)
Forwards: Pavlich, Deledio, Chapman, Richardson, Higgins, Krakouer, Ziebell (Brown, Walker)

I think it is a very strong side on paper, but I have a few issues with it:
1. Why does having Gilbee concern me so much? Ideally, I'd like to upgrade to Enright. Apart from that, rapt with the backline. Only change over the past six weeks has been Grimes out.
2. I see Ablett as a necessity, especially with the revelation that he'll be rested in the forward line this year. I can see him springing up with a couple of goals every game on top of his multitude of possies. The pricetag, however, leaves other areas of my team slightly lacking. Would a downgrade to Bartel be a problem?
3. Gone slightly cold on Mitch Robinson in the past few weeks? Is Dayne Beams a better option?
4. I've gone for a different ruck approach to the majority of people on here. I do not have the safe ruckman you can rely on so much, as Ottens and McIntosh are obviously both coming back from injury. Does this ruck lineup let the overall team down or does it have the potential to be my strongest point with a couple of upgrades?
5. Jacobs or Spencer?
6. Chapman's paper hamstrings scare me slightly. I'd like to think this is the biggest risk in my side. He is 90% locked in.
7. Richo, too old? I can see him carving up again this year, but still a little concerned. Again, probably 90% locked in.
8. The three cheap forwards is not pleasing to look at. I'm on board for Higgins, and I rate Ziebell, but I'm not completely sold on Krakouer. Veszpremi's injury effectively locks him in, as the next player I'd consider is over $100k more expensive.
9. Is Taylor Walker the best option for my forward-line bench?

Ill try my best
Pretty good side overall
1 - if your concerned about gilbee i would downgrade haselby to tuck or masten and use the cash to upgrade him
2 - keep ablett
3 - stick with robinson i think he looks more likely and having anthony is a good option
4 - not too bad but im not keen on not having at least one top line ruck even hille would do the job
5 - jacobs
6 - chapman is probably a liability but its your choice im not keen on him but thats just me
7 - richo will dominate but i think last year was his best and i can see him just falling slighty.
8 - i would replace krakouer for skipworth or even hentchel but krakouer gives u something different.
9 - taylor seems to be right, ive got him but again not totally sold

overall great side, i think u know your weakness. just sure up rucks and i think your on your way.

Also seeing as you selected option 1 for myself with regards to
hill -->petrenko, rich--> anthony and upgrading luenberger --> mcintosh
do you think having petrenko suban rance and anthony robinson beams is a safe bet to have at least one starting. and could you maybe give me some more analysis of the team and why u like option 1
thanks

OKay - this is my second attempt at a starting team ... Where you put the last $200k or just sit on it for trades?

supercoach.jpg

If you emergencies are legit why none for your mids?(yes I know you cant have more than 3) High risk IMHO, having ruck emerg unless one of your rucks are doubtful

Now my team.....
all comments are taken on board
Ive been playing with a few combinations
Hill --> petrenko, Rich--->Anthony, Leuenberger ---> Mcintosh
Or
Bartel --> j Selwood, Leuenberger -->Kruezer, Yarran -->Ziebell
supercoach09tb.png
Like you said, I think having three fairly well researched 94k players ensures you of one playing each week (I would hope). It's obvious that the purpose of the trades is to upgrade Leuenberger and while I think Kruezer could average about 70-75 this year, I can't see the sense in trading out Bartel, even for someone like Selwood.

Heres my team, any feedback is more than welcome.

Backs - Goddard/Waite/CCornes/RClarke/Houlihan/Raiines/Hill - Suban/Rance
Mids - Ablett/Judd/Bartel/Cousins/Tuck/Skipworth - Robinson/Beams
Rucks - Hille/Leuenenberger - Jacobs/Spencer
Forwards - Franklin/Deledio/Fev/Giansira/Didak/Higgins/Yarran - Brown/Thorp

A little concerned with my backs though. Thinking maybe Adcock for waite and upgrade Raph Clarke. Any thoughts??

I think your thoughts are on the money!

DEF: Hodge, Goddard, C. Cornes, Adcock, Malceski, Raines, S. Hill (Suban, Dawson)
MID: Ablett, Bartel, Deledio, Selwood, Hasleby, Rich (Robinson, L. Anthony)
RUCK: Cox, Launberger (Spencer, Jacobs)
FWD: Harvey, Pavlich, Chapman, Houlihan, Higgins, Skipworth, Yarran (T. Walker, M.Brown)
CASH: $41,900

My midfield is eating a lot of cash, but I was hoping to nab those three top Cats from the start and just have them earning points from Round 1. It does however mean that my forward line is somewhat weak. I'll consider losing one of the Cats to upgrade one of those mid-tier forwards for a Buddy or someone, but I think Cox is locked in after some indecision!

Good point ... they're just placeholders at the moment but i guess pretty stupid to not have reasonable ones set in case I forget and cant change them after i see squads on Wednesday/Thursday

Not sold on the Yarran price.
Swap adcock for houlihan, send lids to the fwds, replace lids with dal santo/ cross and then relaxxxxxxxxxxx

After a month of chopping and changing I have finally settled on this line up.
I would greatly appreciate any ones input, whether constructive or not

If your worried what about Tuck down to Otten net (190) and an upgrade of Leuy to 405K (Ottens or Simmonds)

i would get ottens, im not sold on Burger being a good sc scorer, also i dont think Tuck would be an automatic selection in hawthorns 22.

Here is my team what are thoughts?, i have 162k in the bank. thanks
