Does anyone think Cox has written the season off to an extent & is experimenting in certain cases with different players, and if so, are fans content with that? I get it doesn't guarantee anything in the future, but I assume another reason is to have more rounded players. Iknow players move positions all the time, but caught the 2nd half of the Bombers game and Tom McCartin looked much more comfortable in defence. Francis is not a forward and contributed to us winning when he played up there in his 1st game at FF (?) I know the injuries have tolled up badly this season, but I suppose it's a chance to try those players in other positions.

Also, would Grundy not be worth a shot up forward, obviously for his height. I get the ruckman is an important position but not something I've really understood yet. To me it looks like they contest the bounce at the start of each quarter, try get it out of there as quick as they can and sort of sweep up in the middle of the park and contest marks.

Finally, the boys need to get their accuracy near goal, we missed some bad chances in the last few minutes of the game.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, though I don't think he's actually written off the season, more like injuries have forced his hand.
Can't imagine Grundy in the forward line, wasn't that why it didn't work out at the Dee's? He's a ruck and that's about it.

Jamarra has gone to a Health Spa. Umm. What that actually says without saying it, is that Jamarra has gone to Rehab. I hope they detox him first because Rehab without Detox doesn't work. I am glad he chose to get help. It is a long journey. I have had many friends over the years who have had Drug and Alcohol issues. The hardest thing is to admit there is a problem and then to admit 'I NEED HELP'. I truly hope this is not one of the Religious services as they are the worst. I worked in HIV for a long time and I knew all the services. The ones run by religions were very badly run, because Religious devotion HAD to be a part of the program and the specialist workers were questionable at best. The Independent programs, like The Buttery, were far better and their outcomes v the Religious programs were far better. The Religious programs have less than 10% efficacy but the Independent programs are far better, up to 80% success rate.

Good luck to the kid. I hope he is successful and gets his life back on track. By life I am not talking about footy but about his family, friends, day to day living. Footy comes much later, after everything, emotions, psychology, sociology and physiology are back on track.

Cheers. I worded a couple of things wrong and am trying to stay in my lane as far as footy knowledge is concerned or lack of it. I was just throwing out those hypotheticals for the Swans' fans who watch the game on a regular basis. And I get that folk can't read Cox's mind, but given the injury list and the core of our team probably picks itself, we're surely easier to play against when the direct replacements/squad players brought in for the likes of Mills, Gulden, Papley et al, are nowhere close to their level(s)

Ah no, I wasn't proposing Grundy play at FF for whole games, just that his height is something we seem to lack up front & in certain situations in games if we need a focal point to aim at & get breaking ball for our crumbers(?) to get on the end of. Just from watching 1 & a half games live & highlights this season, our kicking near goal seems poor, rushed and bad decision making ala Warner in the Bombers game when the easiest thing was to kick pass to 2 open men instead of kicking for goal and missing badly.
