Before the Essendon game, I posted a photo of some Swans I saw at the beach. Normally they are good luck but it didn't work that week...(not their fault the players couldn't kick straight!).

Last Friday I saw some Swans again...this time they were lucky for the Carlton game.

Well today I saw one! So 🤞 for tomorrow.

Dan Hannebery on the (blanking on the name) podcast a few weeks ago was asked about the "Bloods culture", and he basically explained that when he was drafted to the club, there were about seven or eight blokes at the club who were such great leaders that they could've been captains at any other club. He said that having so many leaders holding each other and everyone else accountable both on & off the field made for such high standards. Hearing him explain it like that it was really easy to see why things were always pretty good in that era, even if they weren't always "winning flags" good.

I couldn't help but think about the current group. Jesse Dattoli for example is drafted to the Swans last November. Who's he got around him when he walks in on day one? Who are the leaders good enough that they'd be captains at most other clubs? Mills? Gulden? Rampe, who is on the way out?

Like how did we let things get to this point? This feels like the worst the leadership situation at our club has been in my entire life supporting the club. I don't know what we stand for and I don't have any faith in any of their ability to correct course.

Folks, a question about when a player requests a trade to another team: can this be done if a player has a year, 2, 3, 4 years, etc left on their contract? And the player and the club they want to join - surely there are discussions held beforehand between the players agent and club (they want to join) ?

Why wasn't it North Narrm that the Pies played on Saturday
I wonder why Melbourne for example don’t make the name change permanent. That would be a real statement right there.

Yes and yes.

Obviously all parties have to agree to a trade, but a contracted player can be traded and his contract can be re-worked at his new club, again if player and new club so wish.

Cheers, Hairy. The selling team might also look for one of the receiving teams future draft picks as part of the deal? Are player tranfers not as prevalent because players have a sense of loyalty to clubs or/and I imagine the salary caps of teams dictates they can't afford a top players contract, hence, that's one reason behind the salary cap?

Why? It's absolutely true. When I lived in the metro area I was a member of both and went to games nearly every weekend.
Either a Swan or not.
When South wasn't at home , we didn't go and watch St Scum at the other end of the Lake

That's a ridiculous and incredibly narrow minded view.
We haven't played at Lake Oval in nearly 50 years so that's hardly a reasonable comparison.

My father went to the Junction Oval to watch Fitzroy when we were not playing at the Lake Oval, so I would think about that statement again.

The AFL keeps the Perth and Adelaide team apart so one team is interstate while the other is at home so its crazy that they have both the Swans and Giants playing at home on the same weekend, it just blocks each side from promoting their home game regarding of if Swans fans want to go to Giants games or not. Who cares, its gives people the option, just like AFL members like myself in Melbourne have and enjoy.

Lachlan McKirdy with a pathetic content piece on this weeks fixturing with 2 games in Sydney . Reckons it stop fans of say the Swans going to the Giants game , what a joke
I wouldn't go to a GWS game unless it was their final one after being folded by the AFL. In which case I would be there with bells on and a bunting.
