SANFL has just posted a new Video of Jackson Mead.
I'm impressed. Reminds me of Houston from that clip. Great kicking skills.

All true but even adelaide know that's a dangerous game to play with a whole lot of possible father/sons coming thru for them in the coming years. Now that's officially done time to trade out 29. There's no way Adelaide aren't bidding at 28, even if they aren't really interested. If we still have 29 them bidding at 23 wouldn't surprise me, even if it's a touch early. Them 'forcing' us to pay that pick would have been raised more than once by Roo and Smart. Spite Port, benefit Adelaide, has always been their order of importance.

Need to get the girls team up and runningGavin Wanganeen’s wife is having another girl
thats 5 girls, 1 boy for Gav
Can’t help but think about the potential 6 little Wanganeens that could have been running around in the AFL for us

Yeah spacing it out so that we can have 30 years of Wanganeen girls playing for the club's AFLW team. Think his oldest daughter from his first marriage is 18 or 19 and first girl from second marriage is 6.Need to get the girls team up and running

Nope.I thought that the reason our father/son cutoff was 200 compared the WA clubs' 150 games was because of the pres-season/night games being counted by the sanfl issue.
Surely this is inequitable - it should either be 150, not including preseason, games to match the WA clubs, or 200 games including the preseason games. It's like the afl have thrown in another hurdle to stop us getting access to father son players. The club need to grow some balls and fight this one properly
Nope.
In 2001 when the AFL redrafted the father son rule they asked the WAFL and SANFL to submit data to make a fair rule for the sons of the champion and long serving players of those comps to be considered.
The SANFL counted preseason games in their totals, the WAFL didn't, it like the V/AFL kept separate records.
It all goes back to the 1960's when you had national carnivals and players missed several games a year and the 3 big leagues set up Club 200 and picking up state games and preseason/night series games for players who got to 200 games in total and giving those players some financial and non financial benefits if you got to 200, when there was little money in the game.
The dopey pricks at the SANFL forgot about all this and not reading the proposed 2001 AFL rule changes about only counting premiership season games, that was the problem.
The AFL tried to work out in such a way that
the number of eligible fathers who played 200 games for the 6 clubs attached to Port, roughly equalled
the number of eligible fathers who played 200 games for the 4 clubs attached to the crows, roughly equalled the number of eligible fathers who played 150 games for the 4 clubs attached to the West Coast roughly equalled
the number of eligible fathers who played 150 games for the 4 clubs attached to the Fremantle roughly equalled
the average number of eligible fathers who played 100 games for a VFL club.
It was a smoothing exercise, but the SANFL presented the wrong data. If the right data had been presented, the eligible SANFL players probably would have had to play 175 games to link up their sons to Port and the crows.
That's NGA not NGI. Yes and yes. He already is in their academy, so he is benefitting from being in there. I think he has to sign another form come a month or two before draft day.Does a potential NGI kid have to agree to be a clubs' nominated draftee, or can he simply decline their offer to place him on their list of nominations?
I thought that kids had opportunity to decline to be taken as a F/S if they so chose?
So the sanfl manage to screw us over, even when they're not trying to. What an organisationThe dopey pricks at the SANFL forgot about all this and not reading the proposed 2001 AFL rule changes about only counting premiership season games, that was the problem.
