I also can’t believe we sent 16 to self isolate together. Asking for trouble.

If they wanted them to keep up some training, send a pair to 8 different locations.

It would've been an honest mistake by the players. In fairness to them, it's also been plastered over local media that we can meet in groups of 10
 
Where is Chapman again. Eddie, Kennett or say a Gordon would be up there defending their clubs. Chapman will probably come out later and volunteer to give up draft picks as a punishment.

Except these players are back in Adelaide, which has relaxed COVID regulations. It would be easy to equate the only two training with a time when everyone was in lockdown, which is now lifting.

Crows DIDN'T breach any biosecurity protocols. Only training protocols put in place by the AFL to ensure fairness for Victorian clubs. SA and WA players could be training in groups of less than 10 safely - but cannot while AFL fairness protocol is in place.

I agree. I f***ing HATE how this club constantly gives up in any fights. Fagan should have said we made an error in breaking a rule that's only there to protect Victorian clubs. Say it is incredibly minor, we never risked biosecurity or the relationship with State Governments and we expect a reprimand for an innocent mistake.
 
Fagan on radio couldn’t confirm the circumstances other than to say a number groups of 2 converged for some drills. He confirmed SAPOL are investigating it too.

I think Garry Lyon has echoed my thoughts - why do it? Why send 16 players to quarantine together with all the potential that carries for a mistake.

Hey, at least we learnt from the Stengle situation.

The club released a statement immediately saying there is an investigation about to start and we'll update later when more details come to hand.

And no mention of the word 'lingering' - Adam Kelly, take a bow.

They're probably thinking it's easier to monitor if all the guys are in one spot, not to mention the difficulties that arise for players who live in a house with multiple roomates (and their Eastern suburb backyards that are about as big as a prison cell)

Staying in groups of 2 isn't a hard rule to follow. If Ben Hart is enough of a dumb prick to tell the guys to huddle up or not tell them to stay away and make sure they're all following the guidelines then he needs a rocket. He's the senior bloke there, he needed to be in charge and make sure the rules were being followed

Ordinarily I agree with you. However judging by some the posts in a thread on the main board, some people seem to think that there has been a massive breach of quarantine. The club cannot been seen to be taking CV lightly

Why is that learning?

I don't give a shit about the club coming out QUICKER to show its belly. I'd only rather they came out quicker to tell everyone to get stuffed.

Except there ISN'T so the club needs to come out immediately and say that.

Otherwise, our willingness to submit and apologise makes things worse. It's how a contracting stuff up with Tippett ended up getting blown out to the same punishment as a club doing systematic doping and human experimentation.

We need to fight back, instead of constantly submitting and giving up.

Not much point fighting back now until they know all the details and SAPOL have had a chance to finish looking into it

I don't think it is easy. There has been an uproar in AFL circles about WA clubs being unable to train due to the groups of 2 rule despite their state's looser restrictions.

I don't think players are that oblivious to what is going on.

They also started out in groups of 2, before converging into a larger group. If they didn't know about the rule at all, why did they start in groups of 2 in the first place?

So yeah, I don't buy their explanation

I think you give the players too much credit. Most of them are absolutely oblivious to the outaide world

So they knew about the 2 person rule to start the session in pairs, but then forgot about it half way through?
