Potential training breach?

It has everything to do with the AFL. It is an AFL directive not to train in groups they have breached.

The same directive that we pressured the AFL to make Victorian clubs to adhere to because of these EXACT players being in quarantine.

So we've gone to the AFL and said 'we don't want Victorian clubs training together until our players are out of quarantine', the AFL has agreed and then we get caught with those players training in groups.

This is such a stupid fu** up and completely ruins any shred of integrity we might have had left in the eyes of the AFL.
Good point -we wrote to the AFL to make sure no one would start while we had players isolating.

Then we go and do it anyway!

Which you can't do under the strict guidelines. Yeah it's minor stuff up, but it's a stuff up.
I'm not suggesting it isn't a stuff up.

I'm questioning our inability to have a spine about it. Ask yourself this, if this had happened to any other club, do you honestly believe the same level of groveling and spinelessness would be on display?

The answer is no. We have a culture of strict arselicking of the AFL for no clear reason.

Well, it would be very easy to argue that they were not breaking any state laws. You cannot make blanket rules when differe states are in different positions. WA and SA should be able to train in larger groups as it is currently safe to do so. We all know the afl rule was brought in by Maguire and co as they are petty pricks. The very person who hijacked the game for his own benefit instigating that the grand final would be played at his home ground until 2057.
That is all irrelevant. It doesn’t matter the rule says only train in pairs.
Why the club thought they could get away with not doing this is crazy. How someone whose job and now career is a coach would not be on top of this as well is crazy.

I'd suggest if any other club got caught like we did they'd cooperate the same.

I was asking a question ..?

So we possibly jumped the gun for by a few days. Whilst it is was extremely dumb, I'm not convinced its the big deal some people are making it out to be.

And how about dialing back the high and mighty attitude
Well if we did it on purpose it essentially cheating. If we did it by accident we sure have some fools running our club.
neither way we deserve to be punished.

Except Essendon.

But lets not be ******* Essendon.
Yes that worked pretty poorly for them, however they never had a positive test either. We were stupid enough to be caught red handed

Were there any coaches with them? Or just the lads returning from interstate?

WE WERE THE ONES WHO ASKED THE AFL TO DELAY CLUBS TRAINING TOGETHER UNTIL OUR PLAYERS WERE OUT OF QUARANTINE
This whole story is ridiculous. Does anybody feel they will get a season in this year? I don't. Are we an incompent club? Yes. Do we have an incompetent chairman who will not do the right thing and resign? Yes. The real victims here are the supporters. The overarching point to this story is the VFL is not a level playing field. They should have left it up to the states to decide how it's citizens interact. Either bring in hubs or forget about this shambles. Their current strategy won't work and it's embarrassing.

Yet we still have a heap of apologists going 'nothing to see here, pride of South Australia, envy of the league!'
I saw we go the other way and become the Detroit pistons. I saw we own it, say **** the AFL and become the bad boys of the league, so we broke an AFL BS rule, Who ****ing cares. **** 'em. This post may've been influenced by bingeing 4 seasons of the Peaky Blinders.

Except there ISN'T so the club needs to come out immediately and say that.

Otherwise, our willingness to submit and apologise makes things worse. It's how a contracting stuff up with Tippett ended up getting blown out to the same punishment as a club doing systematic doping and human experimentation.

We need to fight back, instead of constantly submitting and giving up.
I’d swear the AFL has photos of Chapman bonking a goat or something.

In a time when there have been zero AFL matches, we've found a way to:
  1. Have a player go drink driving in an unregistered vehicle
  2. Sack a well credentialed, respected line coach reducing our coaching team to basically nothing
  3. Have a board member threaten players
  4. Breach training rules when the AFL is attempting to gain enough trust to resume
We just couldn't lay low, could we?
And to think I thought no games in 2020 meant the Crows wouldn't be able to regularly disappoint me.

Hilarious isn't it.

It'll be a fine with a majority of it suspended. They trained for under an hour in a group of 8, it's so very minor.

But still sack Hart

That's what they're claiming.

If they did it once, they did it more than once.

You really believe that ?? Our players haven't even been in the same state for most of the last month.
