It's not so much about keeping secrets, but about being seen. You can guarantee someone will see you no matter where you are ... in this case, someone had no hesitation about dobbing the Club in.

Fagan on radio couldn’t confirm the circumstances other than to say a number groups of 2 converged for some drills. He confirmed SAPOL are investigating it too.

I think Garry Lyon has echoed my thoughts - why do it? Why send 16 players to quarantine together with all the potential that carries for a mistake.

There shouldn’t be any potential. Once the club got the okays and were provided with the guidelines, I’d have thought it exceedingly simple. They could all isolate together as per covid regulations but they could only train in pairs as per AFL restrictions. There is only potential for deliberate contravention of the AFL rule or that the person we sent to supervise is stupid beyond even our belief. He either gets sacked for doing it deliberately or being so stupid to have not understood the rules. If he’s not sacked then Adam Kelly will be a complete failure because only board influence could save Hart. And a good operator would turn that around. Heard him on the radio and he was no good, sounded broken. Board puppet.

The players totally ignored the guidelines. Typical dicks, what’s so hard to understand about training in isolation, or in pairs.
Every business has rules, and WHS procedures that staff are expected to follow.

The club tried its best to manage the fallout; “It appears the communication wasn’t anywhere as clear as it needs to be.“

I think you give the players too much credit. Most of them are absolutely oblivious to the outaide world

been 2 all along though? Recall Brad mentioning it in an article as well. We’re a multimillion dollar enterprise in a unique time with serious ramifications for breaking rules. You dot and cross everything, leave no stone unturned. The degree of incompetence required to **** this up would be beyond even the most amateur of organisations. Enter Ben Hart and whoever trusted him to not **** it up.
