My point is the executioner (AFL) have a history of being brutally unfair penalty wise to use and we need to stand up to that kind of behavior. I'm scared that we may lose draft picks we cannot afford to lose.

We chose extra draft picks last time to save Trigg’s job and the board’s face. Some even argued in here that the picks had no real value.

It’s the medical advice from medical experts that have seen us get through this relatively unharmed. While I agree with your statement that a group of fit players in isolation is a very low risk, that doesn’t give them the right to break the rules.

The AFL knows what the board accepted instead of sacking Trigg. Remember Vlad openly laughing at Chapman when Chappy was so pissed that Essendon were described as cooperating where we didn’t? The weasel was typing his response.

Honestly as much of a slime ball as Vlad was, I believe him telling the truth about us not cooperating.

I think we made a big song and dance about cooperating while behind closed doors we did everything we could to deflect the blame from Trigg.

It's been a complete shit show for a decade now, scandal after scandal, the only people that are hurt in this is the fans, we absolutely cop it time after time. The joy of winning a footy game can only get you so far.

We need an entire new board, every single current member has to go and the new board can not be connected to the the club in any way, no past players or business owners that share assest with past or present players. Oh no, Trigg was being sacrificed and the AFL keeping the first year of draft picks we offered up. Trigg turned on the board and threatened to bring them down with him. The board then chose their reputations ahead of club best interests and negotiated the extra sanctions required to keep Trigg. That’s why Vlad could openly chuckle when Weasel was acting all tough.

That’s a very long rant for a very minor mishap that was only brought in because Victorian clubs complained.

It is the most ridiculously petty rule the AFL has ever brought in, especially when Victorian clubs will be at a massive advantage when games start back up and we can’t play home games for a while.

All other rules are state based right now, so why are the AFL above that?

The whole thing, combined with the rabid media, is just a cesspool. Throw in a disjointed season and I'm just about done.

The only clubs who have to worry about it reside outside Victoria and NSW. The rule has also been in place for about a week and given restrictions are likely to be eased in those states by next week, does this really matter in the scheme of things? They’ve deserved criticism for a lot of other issues in the past, but this just seems petty.

I hate when our club gets dragged through the media, but people will forget/won’t care next week when all clubs can train as groups of 10 anyway.

I reckon blaming "communication" is basically a very diplomatic way of saying "I'm not sure how I could have made it any clearer, 8 groups of 2 players... but this ****-*** has managed to interpret it as 2 groups of 8!!!" You know, technically there was an issue with "communication".
