Potential training breach?

I think most here are trying to brush this off lightly out of a desire to protect the club and that's understandable.

But we have to see this from the eyes of the AFL. The ONLY way they get special permissions to run their competition is if they can convince authorities of multiple states that they can herd cats and keep their players and officials from breaking rules and risking public safety.

What our club has done is far worse than any of the breaches the NRL have dealt with. Becuase this isn't just rogue players. This is a club ignoring the rules, players breaking conditions placed on them and having been directed to do so by a club official.

If port had done this most on this board would be crying murder.

The only thing I think is significant here is that yet again Ben Hart has been completely incompetent at his role. FFS, he surely knew what they were and weren’t allowed to do. As long as we employ incompetent people like him we’re going to continue to fail as a club. I’d go as far as to say we’d be better off going a coach short than continue with Hart.

We didn’t break Covid-19 protocols, just the AFL training protocols, so no way are players getting suspended for the season as per that article suggests.

If we had broken state quarantine laws, might have been a different story.

That's not actually true. If you read the SA Police statement they said we ****ed up but they are allowing it to be an 'education' opportunity rather than giving any formal punishment.

SA’s Police Commissioner Grant Stevens says under state laws, the players and Hart should have remained isolated inside their rooms and not ventured outside.

But commissioner Stevens expects the Crows to be warned, rather than fined.

‘‘My understanding is it is what you might describe as an honest mistake,’’ Stevens told reporters.

‘‘It is being dealt with as providing advice and education, and this is no different to what we have done to so many other people who have not necessarily complied with their obligations for quarantining.

‘‘At this point, my advice is they are being dealt with in an educative way rather than a punitive way.’’

They still didn’t stuff up deliberately though, they were under the impression players could train in groups of two under the agreement with SAPOL, which is why a warning was issued that they must do their training alone.

They also didn’t break the 10 person rule, so it was never going to be anything more than a warning.

Hold on, 5 minutes ago you said

Now you're changing your argument.

Son once and for all, to be clear. Did we break Covid-19 isolation protocols?

We didn’t, otherwise fines would’ve been issued. Anyway, you’re going on ignore.

Can't even keep your story straight within a 10 minute period.

Rather than just admitting you're wrong you run away and hide.

With that sort of attitude you might just have a future as an employee of the AFC

The perils of a footballer. We inadvertently took the Pooch to a dog park last weekend with what turned out to be more than 10 mates.

Wasn't intended but it did happen.

also, Essendon have the Hangar and Collingwood have the Lexus centre. But there's no way they'd be training together, in their purpose-built, enclosed, away-from-prying-eyes facilities. fu** me.

So much this if anyone thinks Vic clubs aren't breaking the rules already they are naive
