Potential training breach?

There you go.

.... so the clubs instructions now supercede those from the police?

There is NOTHING in this statement that says they had permission from any government authority.

In fact in direct contradiction:

The League, as well as South Australia Police, had been advised that players who had returned from interstate on Monday would move into the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort to observe the requirement to self-isolate.

So we told both the AFL and the police they were going to self isolate and then they didn't self isolate.

The police gave the instructions, which were to go outside on private property and not the golf course.

We did that, however we exceeded the number put in place by the AFL. It is the most minor of indiscretions and yet you're carrying on like someone shot your mother.

Grow up.

Again, claims with no proof.

What proof do you have the police told them they could go outside at all?

That's not what self isolation is.

You are just repeating the same insubstantiated claims.

Why would they go there then?

Why not just isolate at home if they weren't allowed to leave their rooms?

I don't know, perhaps that question should be directed to the club.

But the police statement is pretty clear, they did not have permission to leave their rooms.

So who do you think is more credible? The police or the AFL club with a history of lying in its public statements?

For all I know we went there thinking it was out of the public eye specifically so we could break quarantine. It certainly wouldn't be the dumbest thing the club has done recently, though it'd likely make the top 5 list.

You are a bit of a ****ing shrill aren't you.

Before the incident, the Crows had told the AFL and SA Police that 16 players returning from interstate – mainly first to fourth-year footballers – would isolate with Hart at the Novotel resort.

Nicks said the initial agreement with SAPOL gave the club “the authority for those players to be there and spend time training together in pairs”.

They had permission from the Police, it appears that the pairs of players kicking to each other got closer than 1.5 metres (my views on golfers is only further reduced by this, I mean what kind of sad ****wit dobs on them)

The Crows players were still at the Novotel today. They were only seen retrieving food left outside their doors by a club dietitian.

Nicks said the players would go into a “slightly stricter isolation ... just because we want to get things right”.

Police commissioner Grant Stevens said he understood it was an inadvertent mistake by the Crows.

“At this point, my advice is that they’re being dealt with in an educated way rather than a punitive way,” he said on Friday.

“So, we would certainly be hoping if they are provided this advice and education that they would comply going forward, otherwise we will see a different outcome.”

Commissioner Stevens added the educational approach is one that has been taken with “so many people” across the state who have needed guidance on adhering to self-isolation laws, and the Crows were no different.[\quote]

So our highest police authority has shrugged it off, perhaps you can pull the skirt from over your head now.

Think you're being unfair on the club ....this falls back onto Ben Hart .....and he must pay the price unfortunately, he knew the boundaries, and obviously thought the club was out of sight .....or he wasn't prepared to make the tough calls
That’s fine if you’re looking at this incident in isolation.

Im looking at the club....basically since Tippett.

Since then there has been a long list of incompetencies, controversies and PR nightmares. Some stuff, like this weeks effort, just plain stupid.

If you take a club with the complete opposite trajectory, Richmond, was a basket case but now a giant - they went and got competent admin. Brendan Gale/Neil Balme. Of course they are now leaders on and off field.

We remain a retirement home for ex players regardless of their skills/qualifications or experience.

Personal attacks, yawn.

Because the crows have never lied to save face before have they? "no lingering issues from the camp"

The Crows statement is directly contradicted by the police statement, so who has more credibility?

You notice at that time we had lost all of our street fighters from club land and turned into a corporate lapdog.

Can you imagine Blight, Reid, Sanderson (not Brenton), Kerls or Cornes being so blitherly compliant in such a patheticly public way?

From Tippet onwards we've become something out of 1984 (the book).

Compliant, obidient and cowardly.

Peter, It's a long bow to link this issue with the past culture .....the club has made a lot of change in the last 6 months, CoVid has provided a further opportunity to clear the decks of unwanted people

This was one, or a couple of peoples stuff up

In relation to Richmond, you are correct, Balme was the key appointment .......hard to judge Adam Kelly yet, give some of these new appointments an opportunity

Because they are footballers and you had Ben Hart as the assistant. Enough said.

Jesus, would never have footballers on my table at a trivia question night. Dumb ****ers.

On another point, are all the journalists going gung-ho - McManure, Wilson, Whately - all employees of Croc Media?

You mean the bit where they say over stepping the mark on what they were approved to do was an honest mistake and to move on?

Also it wasn't a personal attack, it was a statement of observation.

Sanders??

Whilst I agree to a point, we do things in such a dumb way that it makes it almost impossible to defend.

That's the issue, our responses are because of the blatant stupidity.

DELETE THIS EMAIL PHIL.

They went there as an arrangement to train in relative freedom.

It's just a gigantic shame Nicks wasn't also required to quarantine. We had to send Pinky instead.

Adelaide management is a joke to let this happen. No other club has been caught doing this, why us?
Just typical AFC bad luck or poor management?

Right. B grade management. Surely we are a better organisation than what we have shown in the last 10 years or so. Ah we will all look back in future wonder at the Chapman despair era. Sheesh!

Listening to the Nicks interview, there was a senior LG player there too .....so people not wanting to pull players up on day 1 of training

Gerard Whately saying the penalty should be 4 points ......of all the options, fines, player suspension ect ....this is the one I support, helps us in the Draft inadvertently
Hopefully they make the penalty 24 points.

Look I haven't stated anywhere it wasn't an honest mistake in a way that could be construed as me stating it as fact. It could have been an honest mistake, happy to concede that point.

The point I've been arguing with Shorty is he claimed we didn't breach any SA Police directive, that we followed there rule and so there was no 'honest mistake' becuase there were no mistakes.

If you are in agreement that we broke the rules given by the police, I am in agreement that it could have been an honest mistake.
