Potential training breach?

If we had copped draft picks and/or a 100k fine, I would have torn up my membership and quit AFL for good. It is time the idiots that run this club understand that saying you will cop a penalty whatever it happens to be, or offering a self-imposed penalty as we did with the Tippet thing is utter bullshit. We need a CEO, Chairman, Coach, etc that are willing to fight like f*** for this club.
I think the penalty that has been imposed is over the top for the minor infraction that occurred. There is no way our 16 players should have received any penalty at all.
There is an interesting psychology that comes into play

Clubs and teams are a product of a system

If you are vanilla then you get Adelaide

Haha look at these people. It takes a certain type to sell off any semblance of your intellect and integrity to be one of these AFL media pundits. The industry has shown their true colours during the last two months without actual matches. They're the lowest of the low. It's quite hilarious.

Can't stand that bloke. Who actually likes him?

The Port Power faithful love him.

Back in 2014 when the media had their Kenny love in (still going in some areas of the media), I recall he was given a Port Power doona cover - it was sickening viewing at the time but the lads down the road were lapping it up.

Very neutral panel on this issue

I think Adelaide should sue the AFL media for not investigating other tip offs. There are other players that have done the exact same thing and if we have evidence we should sue for slander.

All I’ve seen is Nicksy giving Hart a pass and then basically putting it on the players but hoping they don’t get smashed. I guess the facts that the AFL got were a different to what Nicksy was told. But we do know that players are expendable at our club while staff are untouchable.
You're a gem, you really are

One thing I have learnt from this is I didn't realise the level of Victorian bias. Knew it was there, but the reaction from most of the Victorian media has been so over the top, that it's clear they cannot think logically when it comes to sides outside Victoria.

To think that 2 groups of 8 training for 5 to 10 minutes should receive a far greater penalty than tanking a season, systematically cheating of salary cap for 8 years by a regular finalist/premier is just so bizarre.

This Vic media are dead to me as they have shown their true biased colours & it's hilarious they tried to pre-judge our penalty & now are whinging as have been made to look like complete fools.

The league is all but dead to me. It's slowly developed in to a farce over the last 5 or so years, and recent events have solidified it for me where I have minimal interest in the actual sport itself.

I tend to agree, although it’d be a first for the AFL...

I’m more inclined to believe that we’ve come back at them with proof that other clubs have breached too and the AFL dont want to open that can of worms...
I'd hope if we came back at them with proof of other clubs breaching that those clubs should be getting the same punishments handed out. It should be even justice for all not wack one club / group of players and the others get no punishment

The thing that amuses me most are when journos cry when called out on stupid statements.

The other day I was listening to the AFL Exchange podcast and they had this really salty section where the hosts had a go at GWS for calling AFL.com.au out for photoshopping Jeremy Cameron into an opposition team jumper. The hosts were having a massive sook saying it was bad for them to be called out publicly, they were totally fair with the photoshop, etc.

No one in this industry ever wants to accept responsibility. It's all deflect deflect deflect, blame blame blame, plenty of doubling down. Never a "sorry I got that information wrong" or a "we're pulling that information and issuing a correction" or "sorry we shouldn't have done that".

Just today we've had media personalities suggest draft and points sanctions. Then when that wasn't the penalty, instead of saying "we might have overestimated the severity of the situation"... well they double down again and complain about the sanctions, because they can't admit fault and don't want to admit they made themselves look bad.

I've mentioned a few times here that I work in the media (thankfully a completely different area). The action of sports journalists is among the worst I've come across, it's utterly disgraceful and I'd be ashamed of myself in a professional sense if I acted like they did. They constantly perform in an unprofessional manner, then wonder why they have no reputation and get slammed on social media 24/7. Yeah... I wonder...

They're doing exactly what they're paid to do.

Hahahaha. Dan Andrews lockdown of Victoria has seriously messed with the mind of of the VFL footy media... a week ago they were fapping over Dean Laidley’s downfall now they have turned this into an Uberscandal. They’re at the point where they’d wee their pants a bit if Joe Daniher sneezed at an IGA.

The VIC bias is getting ridiculous and makes me so angry. Is it because they have nothing else to talk about? Is it because they love bashing the Crows? Both? If any other club did this, I'd be calling for it to be dismissed, even if it was Port. How can anyone think this is deliberate when it involves mostly rookies. SA has different rules to VIC, so if anything, it slipped their mind. I mean, they're looking at forcing the WA/SA clubs to play majority of their games interstate. Is that not a competitive edge for the Victorian teams? I don't even want the season to restart if it's going to disadvantage the Crows this much.
