Potential training breach?

I've literally seen no one on here say that. Consensus seems to be a cheap interim appointment who won't rock the boat and cause further rembarrassment to the establishment.

I don't think anyone is expecting any kind of performance turnaround.

Let's be honest. Pyke was the best coach we've had in decades. If you wanted performance you would've held a wide ranging review starting mid-season and turned over the tired players and inco football dept staff, like Richmond and Collingwood did.

Instead we went for the faux review far too late and the brains of the operation left us. But at least we still have Chappy at the helm.

literally no-one?

You want me to start quoting posts to you?

I think Adelaide should sue the AFL media for not investigating other tip offs. There are other players that have done the exact same thing and if we have evidence we should sue for slander.

I don’t think you understand what slander is.

I think it’s also not obvious what happened with the wild media coverage

The Gold Coast 2019 draft handouts which negatively impacted us were gently leaked via the media. Were the AFL leaking to gauge reaction from fans and other clubs? Or it was always going to happen.

In this case, did the AFL leak to gauge reactions and adjust? Or was it just journalistic fabrications.

Either is plausible.
Reasonable point. Mentioned on FC last night that the club had received a huge amount of member feedback, including cancellations of membership.

It is interesting why the person who highlighted the indiscretion hasn’t come forward. I’m pretty sure most people would want the attention.

Sam McManure declining to name his source suggests that it probably does have a connection down the road.

Suck it princesses..

Western Bulldogs champion Bob Murphy believes Adelaide's sanctions for breaching COVID-19 protocols are lenient.

“That’s it? That’s like being hit with a wet piece of lettuce,” Murphy told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“I don’t know where you stand on the suspended sentence of anything Andy (Maher), but it is very, very low on my Richter scale.

“All of the voices that you (Maher) and I were both speaking to in football were saying that the AFL have got to come down hard – this will be big.

"It doesn't sound like it."

They’re a special breed of stupid in the western suburbs. Are they still salty over 1997? Or 2015? Or that time we called out their ‘wind assistance’ with a particular umpire...

In fairness though, how often do journos of any type specifically name sources?

They go to court to avoid doing so.

Let me preface this by saying that I lived in Adelaide for a long time, 1998 still burns and years of taunts at footy park/AO won't be forgotten anytime soon. I hate the crows more than just about any other team.

In saying all of that, this is the biggest ****ing beat up EVER and I just DO NOT CARE. McLure and Caro need to let it ****ing go already

I did laugh at McClures shit eating smirk when he was asked though. Actually, he had a shit eating smirk on his face for most of FC last night

Good to See real issue now being talked about with Eddie now slamming Koch over MM.

FL NEWS
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire slams Port Adelaide chairman David Koch for Mick Malthouse criticism

Just when you thought the China game war of words was over, Eddie McGuire has weighed in. He believes Port Adelaide chairman David Koch has overstepped the mark. And David Koch has defended his attack, offering a slight concession.

I’ve read the thread and I’ve read your posts on all the threads and topics we’ve screwed up in and your always very active in those ones and then you go and post this on the main board

Port troll

You've hit on it. Vhaluus is a Port troll. It's fair enough to criticise the club - we've deserved it at times - but he goes far beyond "criticising a club you love" to criticising a club that he hates. He's a troll and honestly shouldn't be posting here. Off to the Port board.

Used to be great sports reporters who wrote interesting researched articles.

Now it's mostly sensationalism chasing clicks, which personally I completely switch off from.
I see any 'inflammatory' headline and I refuse to click on it. In fact I wish every Crows supporter would never click on anything vomited out by the Vic football media and the try-hard idiot SA football media.

Make them insignificant just like their pretend occupation.

Whilst yesterday was a good result for the AFC, and no one likes giving it to the shocking VicMedia more than I do, broader issues remain.

Once again we get a black eye in terms of admin and competence. One of the players caught up in this was McAsey....what would his thoughts be i wonder.

Clearly a very professional youngster, was probably ribbed a bit when we called his name - few camp jokes. They would have been shaken off with a laugh and the thought that stuff couldn’t happen again.

In his first season he finds himself sanctioned by the AFL.

How is our reputation with players I wonder. Do they cringe at the thought of coming here? I used to think - why wouldn’t you want to come to AFC. Big club, well off, highly professional etc etc.

How do we attract and retain when we just appear a bit dumb. It’s one thing to push the boundaries and even break rules with ruthless intent, but Tippett, Camp and now Barossagate, all just seem a bit stupid - embarrassing

It’s like we just roll our eyes and think - what have they done this time. Hard to club to like sometimes

So, I've been on the record for a long time about my hatred for all things Rucci. He's a small minded, bitter and pathetic creature.
I haven't bought an Advertiser for years thanks to his endless petty articles. I refused to listen to him on 5AA and won't listen to SEN while Rucci or his protege in the Failed Fireman is on air.

So I'm very, very reticent to say this, but, in light of the recent record coming out of the Crows, and the endlessly pathetic mistakes being made (really amateur stuff), was he right all along? Are we a real football club, with passion for the jumper, or are we a plastic club that is run for the corporates and so the board can have functions to back slap each other?

This is how I feel writing it, but it's becoming hard to ignore.

McAsey is highly intelligent they say... don't get too attached.

Tom Doedee is a senior player everyone and now also runs training sessions, along with Hartigan.

This is consistent with the 2 articles in the advertiser that quoted Nicks. Basically Hart did nothing wrong, blamed himself for his communication, no need for any internal sanction whatsoever. Next article quoted him as saying that he hopes the players don’t get smashed for the breach. Ultimately someone is responsible and Nick’s quotes clearly identify the players as being at fault. I guess even if that’s right, the AFL have said, no, Hart was in charge of the groups, it’s mostly on him. I think the AFL also mentioned both written and verbal instructions were provided. So I guess they were happy with Nicks’ communication.

Yeah, I used to stick up for Caro because it must have been tough being a woman in the footy industry - but she's become a parody of herself the last few years.
She went on past sour last night mentioning the Camp a number of times and feeding Manure and Cornes with things to go on with . It was a total hate session. How does McClure get a gig on any show as well. He doesn't appear to be liked by his co hosts on other shows.

I don’t think Pyke would have made it, too much Neil Craig footy philosophy for mine. But still should have been a good coach worthy of at least a couple more years. But he had no hope with Campo and Burton around. But, all reports were that he rated Campo highly and wasn’t lumped with him in any way. At end of 2017 he had the capital to get what he wanted. He chose to blame the players, accepted or drove the coaching changes and ended up going down with his ship. I don’t feel sorry for him at all, but I’ve no doubt he could have left with a better reputation than he did.

Their show is horrid. Not sure why everyone loves Bob Murphy in Victoria. His personality esp isnt great on radio
Meh, I like Bob Murphy as a person (to the extent that I "know" him from afar). But he's not cut out for media. He's at the opposite end of the spectrum from the sensationalists, and too far in that direction.

The AFL want a compliant media. you are either in the camp or out
FFS stop going on about the camp!

That's his resting face.

Same. I used to like Caro, she was more measured / serious than many. Read or listen to her back in the day, and you got the impression of someone with contacts / access to info, who had given some thought to an issue and come up with a thoughtful / reasoned opinion (even if you didn't agree). She's become more tabloid over the years.
