5. Gibbs - One of the most complete midfielder games you'll see. Incredible workrate and importantly, he was clutch.
4. Docherty - The General (again)
3. Simmo - The General 2, was everywhere
2. Jones - Onya BEAST!
1. Cripps - have to acknowledge some of his herculean efforts to get the ball out. Was an absolute bull tonight without being too flashy. Was good to see

5. Gibbs - he is in amazing form at the moment. He does it all: wins clearances, is strong over the ball, composed, silky by both foot and hand, runs all day and is able to push forward & hit the scoreboard. This is provocative but age aside, he's every bit as valuable as Josh Kelly. 2 firsts or he stays!
4. Jones - could not love a man and a journey more than this. He has finally reached his final form as an explosive animal. Big, fast, competitive, he is a tenacious scrapper who did everything he could to smother Lynch - and succeeded resoundingly. The AFL only has a handful of players who can singlehandedly win a game, and Jones just lowered the colours of one of them.
3. Kreuzer - was everywhere tonight. Adds a physical element around the ball with his repeat efforts, always willing the ball forward, and grinds his opponent into the ground with his gut running. Cultural cornerstone type player.
2. Docherty - firstly, he is a 1-on-1 defensive freak. He rarely gets beaten. In fact, he was left one out with Lynch of all people at one point as GC kicked the ball over, but managed to position himself to make the spoil. Add to that, he is an elite reader of the play who can peel off his man when appropriate to provide 3rd man support, and perhaps most significantly, is constantly repelling opposition attacks and rebounding them with aplomb.
1. Simpson - similar to the above, whilst I have suspected Simmo may be on the decline, he wound back the clock tonight with a brilliant rebounding performance. Both he and Docherty (and to be fair, the whole back line) were a relentless rebounding force tonight, and like a magnet repelling another magnet, kept the Suns at bay for nearly the whole game.

BNB: Silvagni - was classy tonight, found plenty of good areas and was generally quite dangerous. Happy to see him post-game say that he's now finding his feet a bit more with nearly 20 games under his belt. Big breakout potential for the remainder of the season or more likely 2018.

Unlucky: Murphy (star), Plowman (underrated, no fuss), Curnow (nullifying Ablett)
