Well, i saw them on tuesday night at festival hall and the verdict is:
awesome

firstly, festival hall is a great place to see a gig, its a bit more intimate (if thats the right word) than rod laver arena

and secondly, powderfinger were sensational, played more of their older stuff than i was expecting, and that was really good
they got the audience involved and they loved it

like a dog was the highlight for myself, its a great song with great meaning and it was better live than recorded

daf, these days and passenger also stood out just because of the way the audience reacted

biggest bonus was that you could buy a drink there, $4.50 for a can of VB, which isnt bad, payed a lot more in the past

Something For Kate were also really good, i had seen them once before and didnt think much of them but i have since changed my opinion

BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER!!!! I really wanted to go! Friends are going tonight and have rubbed it in my face all day.

Did they play "Whatever makes you happy"???? That's my favourite song.

Ummm, don't really remember!! I don't think so, I sort of zoned out after SFK for a while, then got back into it all near the end of the concert.:)

Thanks Nic. I feel a bit better now. I'd hate to go and see someone and they don't play my favourite song.

(bit like the first time KISS came back without make up and didn't sing Shandi!)

I was there leaning on the barrier at the front right in front of the speakers. It was a good night but I don't think i'll ever be a SFK fan they were dull apart from the R.E.M. cover.

My highlights were D.A.F. and Don't wanna be left out. Passenger was a good way to end the show I thought.

Hey my fellow scotch drinking buddy! Do you remember if they played "Whatever makes you happy"?

Just got home an hour ago and I agree with everyone else who had been. They are great live.

These Days is by far their best song (in my opinion ;))

After sending a thread earlier in the week on Powderfinger.
I saw the finger last night, and thought it was pretty dam good show. Hey their not as good as old Timmy Rodgers live but still they were a great band to watch. I thought Something for Kate are going to be the next big thing in Australia, oh sorry they'll go overseas become popular and never comeback!! As I pull out my Britney and N'sync albums!! Seriously last night has put faith back into me seeing bands and two quality bands at that, you've gotta love Aussie bands. Now all I can hope for is Dallas Crane to play more in Melbourne!!!

Burn your Britney Spears albums and computer enhanced **** and go and have a look. My god I think I'm still drunk from last night!!!
