It sells the paper. A puff piece on the Crows gets people buying the paper, or at least talking about it, like this thread.

Most of Rucci's articles are just spin (negative or positive) to sell papers. There is not much real football journalism in this state. As there is no competition amongst print media. If enough people stopped buying it and not clicked on the website, things might change.

Your efforts to get a sponsorship tells a story of where the PAFC sit in the corporate/free market world.

this week has been a week of constant stroking the crows genitalia... if they stroke it anymore.. well.. in Scotty famous words.. "shes gonna blow captain"
 
It has actually gotten to the point where it looks desperate.

I wouldnt be surprised if it actually has the opposite effect and starts discouraging rather than encouraging people. It is like a daily reminder that the crows are going shit.

It kinda annoyed me the first few days but now I am starting to enjoy it. Though of course I dont read the article, lol.

It emphasizes to me how the local media *knows* the crows supporters are nothing more than sheep. Before the season they were the all conquering and top 4 guaranteed and the sheep flocked to drink the kool-aid, now they are a complete disaster the craptiser know the masses will lap up whatever spin they put out.

It's not actually having the Crows on the front page that sells newspapers. I'm sure people don't go to the Deli, Servo or walk past a news stand, see Nigel Smart and suddenly feel compelled to buy the Advertiser. What is important is that the Crows are successful, which leads to people maintaining an interest, which leads to people wanting to read about them which leads to people buying the newspaper. This why the Advertiser is trying to promote the crap out of them and possibly help them over the line. Maintaining interest is what sells newspapers.
 
They didnt get this much press when they won back to back.

Personally I find it pretty sad. Any Crow fan on here calling it the Powertiser has rocks in their head. Youd never ever see us get this amount of positive press to show up to games...especially not at 0-3.

Nah, the ironic thing is we paid to have an advertisement thanking our fans for being who they are as a result of Eddie's random attack while you've got days of free advertising imploring your fans to rock up in lieu of some unexpectedly shit results.
