Practice Games - pre Ansett Cup

Can anyone please tell me who their Club is playing for a practice game and when, prior to the Ansett Cup??

I am spewing! We are only getting an Intra-Club game, yet last year we had a couple of games against other clubs up here, as we did for the years before that.

Is it only the Lions that aren't playing another AFL team for a practice game?

There is usually an Eagles vs Dockers Under 23 side match at Fremantle Oval where they can test out their new recruits and rookie list players. I'm not too sure if this is before or after the Ansett Cup or if they are even going to keep the tradition going this year, they usually get good crowds (up to 10,000 for a scratch match)

Last year we had Melbourne and St Kilda - I think it was - come and play up here at our training ground at Coorparoo. But for the life of me I can't remember now whether it was pre-Ansett Cup, or after we were knocked out of the comp.

Port Adelaide are playing the Northern Territory on Australia Day, but after that I only know of an internal trial game before the Ansett Cup starts.

I'm pretty sure the Crows are only having two internal trial games, then off to NZ to play the Lions.

I had a feeling that with the new Ansett Cup round-robin format, the AFL discourages club vs club practice games.
