Tom Hanks Hello GIF

Howard being scapegoated once more. Thought he was ok after the first blue. After that the defence whom he is an integral part of allowed 2 goals, both from soft frees.
Surely there is someone else to pick apart for a change?

I sit behind a bloke who used to watch Sam Gilbert run down three blokes in a row to win us possession of the ball back and he'd say nothing. SG would outmark someone, silence. On and on it would go.... Until Gilbo misplaced a kick. Which is inevitable, because every AFL player does it. And he's have an absolute fit. The rant would last multiple phases a play. He would just sweat on his mistakes.
There's a few who do the same in here for Dougal.

The best bit of that is that Dougal has the easiest kpi to measure as a full back. And it never gets mentioned by his most outspoken critics.

The good:
  • I thought Wilkie was good, and then Battle came on and looked even more assured. I didn't necessarily rate his 2022 season as high as others, but he looked really good down back.
  • We were hard to score against, which was great.
  • Crouch and Mason were great.
  • Marshall was towelled in the first then fought back really hard (can see why we put a four year offer in front of Draper before he'd played a game).

The OK:
  • Yes, Mitch was a fantastic presence but he also looked very nervous, particularly in the first half and dropped quite a few easy marks. OOTH, he looks like a player who takes his chances in front of goal. You can probably mark him down for two a game.
  • Steele played limited minutes, but I thought he was very assured when on the ground.
  • Nas missed quite a few targets. Hope he hasn't been infected by the Moorabbin curse!
  • Thought Stocker was quite reliable off half back.
  • Probably wasn't as impressed by Clark as others. Did a lot of nice things, but I'm not sure he's ready to do a big job in midfield.

The bad:
  • Forward line still looks dysfunctional at times. Crouch bursts out of the middle and no one leads up at him, lots of bombs to the top of the square, which will get eaten up by better defences.
  • Windhager injury.
  • Essendon.

I haven't seen Forrest Gump or Jurassic Park either
Well, I own up to Forrest Gump.
And there’s a reason for that: I had the good fortune to live in Charleston, South Carolina.
A couple of hours drive north of Savannah, Georgia.
Both amazingly beautiful, and historic, cities.
However, the scenes from Gump where he is sitting on a bench offering chocolates was filmed in Savannah.
Just back from the Savannah River (and port) itself.
It will be high on the tourist trail in Savannah now, along with Kevin Spacey’s house from “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil “.
IIRC, both might actually be on the same square.
Anyway, Gump and those bench scenes will always bring great memories for me.

Coops might be Ross's sacrificial lamb to keep all the rest trying hard. If he's not putting in 110% at training then maybe Ross is telling him he needs to shape up.
Nothing to suggest that imo. Was out the front in many of the running in his group.
