Mooney took all the kick ins after points were scored.
2] Kingsley still can't kick and I reckon he ignored good leads from Nathan at least 6-8 times.
3] Nathan impressive at full fwd but looked lost out at CHF
4] Lingy has trimmed down and looks like he'll play a bit lighter this year.
5] Hard to guage our new look fwd line - no ottens / playfair / johnson
6] Trent West looks great - more mobile and stronger mark than blake.
7] Chapman is a gun - so creative and damaging inside 50m.
8] Someone talk to gaz jnr - the new hairdo looks very thorpey !
9] Varcoe watched on from the boundary but has the confidence and swagger you'd expect from a kid with wraps he's had.
10] Batchelor looked really good - what is it about geelong and red heads ?
11] The sausages were great at half time.

2. Whats new then?

8.

11. Good to hear that the chow was nice! :D

Good to read some of the updates on the 'match'. I'm sorry but on my only day off of the week,i aint driving down to Geelong at the crack of dawn, to watch Geelong v Geelong!

But yeah, thanks for the updates!

PS. Only 2 weeks to go till we thump Carlton!

2 - It seemed that all players opted to chip sideways rather than deliver it long. Kent wasnt on his own and for the record he played further up the ground than he probably should be.

6 - Blake killed West nearlyall game and should get some good time in the NAB cup, West also looks very suspect with his footskills.

I thought the game was actually a bit sloppy. The Grey midfield of Kelly and Bartel dissapointed, and was killed by the blue combination of Ling and Corey.

I liked the look of Todd Grima who had to play on Cameron Mooney. He's a little bit smaller than Cam, and only slightly built at present. Yet he tackles hard and contests well. Kicking wasnt great today but hard to gauge whether it was on off day or if it will be a recurring problem.

Milburn also played across half forward which was an interesting move, it may just have been due to the blue teams lack of height in the forward line. (Gardiner and Grima filled the key forward posts)

Anyone know how Slade, Callan, Gardiner and Rooke played?
Slade - when he got the ball was a bit indecisvie, but comesfrom not knowing what a football is after spending 24 months injured.

Callan - Didnt play, did runs before the game.

Gardiner - Was the blue teams Full Forward, was pretty quiet and set shots were poor.

Rooke -Pretty good, very hard at the ball. What you would expect from Him I guess. Wasnt overly influential however.

Was it just me or did i see Riccardi get injured in the 3rd quarter (i think it was the 3rd quarter)? It happened on the brownlow side of the ground

He appeared to take himself off becuase the interchange bench wasn't expecting it. I could see him say 'f**k'. I'm tipping it was a hamstring tweak :(

I was there.

However, the highlight of the day for me was the return of Gary Ablett Senior to the club. He was signing signatures after the game, chatting to people and even posing for photographs.

I scored a photo of my, nephew and the great man. I also managed to get both senior and junior to sign the one jumper. Could not find Nathan as he was nowhere to be seen. Will attempt at a later date to score the final signature. How much that jumper be worth? Priceless!

Fantastic for the club. It appears the Gary Snr is having a some form of around the club. It's great to see. It creates a real buzz around the stadium.
Awesome stuff. That jumper when signed by Nathan will be priceless. However i would consider buying it off you if Nath had signed it. Put a price on it Hoff.

But if i was you i would never sell it.

Gaz Snr as well, i would have been creaming my pants if i was there.

Great to see the kiddies involved.

We have got a close friend whose 6 year old is a huge Gary Ablett Jr fan and its awesome to be able to say well his dad was my idol and then let the kiddies know the legend of the great man as well.

Are you going to get it framed. It would look awesome with a picture of each playing for Geelong.

The blue team which had the AFL defence and VFL forward line (not to be confused with the AFL forwards) took on the Grey team which was obviously, the AFL forwards and the VFL defence (not to be confused with St Kildas Defence)
Loved that bit.
