Same.

I'm really hoping that Colin gets close to a full game in the middle.
I wouldn't think he would play a full game in the middle, most likely a couple of qtr's. I think there will be a lot of rotations, and i am also looking forward to seeing Moloney, Arma & Mclean in there as well.

Gotta beat the damn Crows!! :D

We won pretty easily in the end. Davey and Neitz both kicked 4 goals.

Best players (in order): Sylvia, Johnstone, McLean, Davey, Read

I'll do a player by player later...

Yeah I didnt see the whole game but Colin Sylvia did some good things...that should make you happy carlos_roos! He mustve been fired up to play a big game.

Brock McLean was terrific IMO.

A bit of work to do in the next couple of weeks but a decent effort in the end.

Sylvia BOG? I said a re-cap with no BS. Sylvia wasn't even mentioned in the report or the best players. So your report = crap.

Brad - McLean has had an excellent pre-season, probably better than most at the club. He is looking in good nick, plenty in the engine.

Good to see Flash and Neitz get in the goals, as both have had crap games so far, so hitting form now is handy.

You're trusting afl.com.au's report?

Colin had 16-17 possessions, about 5 marks, and laid some monster tackles. Some may argue that Travis or Brock (both got around 20 touches) played better than him, but he was at least equal to those two IMO.

Heffernan was nothing special, but AFL named him as our best. Figure that one out.

Sorry, I trust that site a heck of alot more than someone naming Sylvia as BOG with Sylvia in his SN. He wasn't even mentioned in the report.

Miller have a good game? One source says he was good, the other says he wasn't. How did he play when down back? Could be an alternative defender during the season, if needed.

Remember he was a defender for the majority of his career until last year when he was moved to CHF. I prefer him at CHF and he should get a lot better if he can be taught to lead inside the F50, as we need him to stand up as a goal avenue.

Too right we do, Neitz can't stand on his own in the 50 - god knows holland does sh1t all. I hate the idea of Daniher putting Miller down back, its like putting Neita down there. If we want Miller to grow as a permanent CHF (which I assume the club does) he simply has to get practice there, otherwise he'll only be a mediocre CHF/backman.

Deestroy said on the Flame that he didn't arrive until the 10 minute mark of the second term. Sylvia had 10 possessions to this stage (yes, I was sad enough to count them).

yeh if we have a full strength backline (fergeson, rivers and nicholson with bizzell and wheatley floating) then we dont need miller back there. he is only an average backman anyway while he is a good CHF and can get a lot better.

hopefully either johnson or holland can stand up this year n help out neitz cos he will need it if we are gunna be serious finals contenders. good to see robbo gettin goals though, robertson has probably been our most promising preseason player as well as mclean and moloney

I think Miller should only be used down back as a last resort. He generally looks very lost against quality opponents, although that is probably mainly based on a couple of seasons ago and he has definately matured since then. Really need him tearing it up at CHF and then another tall forward option (Holland, Johnson, Smith) alongside Neitz to keep a multi-pronged forward line.

Sounded like a nice win against a close to full strength Adelaide line up. Hopefully we can build on it towards a positive start to the year. ie. Blast the Bombers!
