Riley Collier-Dawkins shrugs off a would-be tackler, blasts the ball inside 50 and Marbs flies high!

And the kick matches the new do 😉

Good to hear he's having a crack, cheers !!

Just a few quick thoughts on draftees and players who stood out.

Bolton looked good in the second half going through the middle.

Stack impressive off half back. So clean.

Eggy looked so composed off half back. Completed hard, good pace.

Jack Ross looked amazing again. Clean off both sides of his body. Hard, tough and got a lot of the pill. Senior debut not too far away.

RCD completed well. His ability to find space is awesome. His lateral movement is exquisite. Faded in and out but showed enough to say he will play games.

Turner looked solid. Wearing 28, has a solid frame already, competes well. Needs to work on finishing.

English was barely noticeable. In and under. Competes hard. Needs to find more ball.

Gee I love Baker. For a small man, he cracks in. His skills and vision are brilliant. Will be a player.

Looks a ripper Jack Ross was our best from what I saw. Very composed with ball in hand and does not flinch when the traffic is coming his way.
The 3 indigenous lads were good- egg and stack off hb and Bolton through the midfield was very lively.

My thoughts.
Jack Ross will play games this year. He is the next mid in if form/injury happens
Brandon Ellis was poo. His disicions where awful. Tried to do too much instead of the KISS method
RCD showed promise. His burst of speed is very exiting for a young tall mid. Dare i say it...Fyfe like...
Stack was awsome. His kicking skills are amazing. He floats it or spears it in which is a rare skill for a 18 year old. Solid build and loves the niggle.
Bolton looked good at stages but also made some silly mistakes. I cant see him lasting past this year.
Baker was awsome as well. If he was 1 foot taller he would be playing every week in the 1s

I didn't see all of the game, but I gave my 3 votes to Towner. Belligerent. Strong. Our young 'uns can develop without being pushed around while his fit and playing.

Great to see Georgy and Garthy fit and moving well. I thought Garthy was beaten one-on-one on occasions, which is a bit unlike him.

I really like what I saw of Bolton in the midfield. His put on a few kgs and lost no pace. Not sure his gunna play AFL, and if he does, probably not as a mid. Blew up pretty quick. Still needs to work on his stamina.

Mabs and Moore looked potent up forward.

Stack and Eggy are exciting. Both very athletic, read the play well, good skills. We have as much depth for HBF as we do for small forward, IMO.

Hard to say given the soft opposition, but I reckon our VFL midfield looks as strong as it did last year. Ross, RCD, Bolton rolling through there, even Brando, and especially Towner, make the departures of Miles, Lloyd, CEllis and Conca manageable. They might not all be ready for AFL duties, but I'm not so worried about our midfield depth now.

And I agree with all the posters above - Ross will play this year and do okay.

Will be interesting to see if Mabs or Moore are played back with Rance likely to miss this season. Same goes for Balta (if he drops back). Might need 1 of these guys ready to fit into the back half if we cop any more injuries to kpb

Cal Moore's first year he played half back , looked a natural back there
He has all the attributes to play down back, great pace, great leap, Mark
Will be very interesting to see if they continue to play him fwd , in the 2s
Or will they now with rance being injured ,, develop him down back ???
Will be very interesting

I was thinking Moore may come in and play the role Balta played tonight (fwd/2nd ruck) and Balta may go down back to try and cover Rance???
