VFL Game Day Practice Matches 2025

So yeah, we obviously lost to Footscray a couple of weeks ago and beat Geelong yesterday. We still have two more Praccys before we play Willy round 1:

Saturday, March 8
Essendon vs Collingwood (Hangar, 10:00am)

Friday, March 14
Essendon vs Box Hille Hawks (Hangar, 4:30pm)

Collingwood are a team we should beat, they've lost a bit of their VFL squad, but Box Hille will be a tough test and a good one to see where we're at.

Play Box Hille on Friday. Based on last game, we probably see these guys playing from the AFL list:

Will Setterfield, Todd Goldstein, Lewis Hayes, Kayle Gerreyn, Jye Menzie, Luamon Lual, Angus Clarke, Rhys Unwin, Vigo Visentini, Zak Johnson, Saad El-Hawli, Jayden Nguyen, Archer Day-Wicks, Tom Edwards

Cox out with concussion, Laverde I read somewhere that he might have a knee issue, Wright ankle, ADJ still injured?, Guelfi probably a month away. Although one probably gets held over for the AFL match later on.

Zak Johnson, Day-Wicks and Nguyen played.

Johnson apparently very good, and El-Hawli good too off HBF.

Looks like we struggled against Box Hille but they're a strong side. Will be interesting to see who gets a gig R1 from our VFL list
