Pretty sure Emerald's holding a round robin pre-season competition over three weeks with Belgrave, South Belgrave and Heathmont participating.

Think it starts this Friday night and continues the following two Friday's. Not sure on quarter lengths or start times though.

Wandin had a hit out tonight v a local pakenham side. Solid hit out with wandin going down by about 7 goals.

Great to see Tyson wheeler with the knee brace off and while many of the lads were not familiar with one another, once they get to training the names should start flowing quickly.

Maybe the players could wear name badges would help the supporters to.:)

Oldtimer you tell porky pies. From what I seen last night Wandin dominated by 5 goals and took the foot of the pedal. Number 24 King I think it is, was still dominating with a booming goal from 55 on the run. I seen the interleague coach there taking notes, upon talking to him he had numbers 24, 9, 4, 16, 7, 1, 2 on his list. The early tips on sheppard being the leading goalkicker will be spot on. 100 easy for that fella...

Sounds like the lid is officially off at The Kennel...

It's fair to say that sometimes idiots are easily entertained tees. Rest assured the kennel has a lot of work to do to close 10 goal gaps this year against the top sides (1 to 5)

FYI if form is anything during preseason Carlton are stuffed and Richmond are great - lets see when the real stuff starts

Seville has kilsyth at kilsyth on saturday and off to tyabb next week.

Brent king was signed as coach during the week along with 2 assistant coaches that he brought with him. Gave a presentation to the playing group last night. Wasn't there personally but heard it went really well.

Any word of results first round of round robin? How did Belgrave look - did they live up to the hype? And Emerald - how did they fair?

Belgrave hit out tomorrow, Emerald won their match against Hethmont and looked very fast on foot however I question whether they will have strong enough bodies to have an impact in Div 1 in their first season up for a long time

Thanks to the Alexandra crew for todays footy & netty praccys. A 6 Qtr football game and 3 netball games, and all of us sunburnt.

To be honest, its was so beautiful up there today I was gutted I had to come home. Should've taken the tent up...:(

Belgrave looked bad. Honestly that's all there is to say about it, they all looked heavy, slow and a little lost. Doesn't look like they have much of game plan besides kick it long down the line to a contest. Could be worse than people think after todays display. South weren't any better, mind you.

Any of the above Praccy games effected by Cricket? Seems a lot of players dont play praccy matches as they dont want to get injured for cricket finals

Healesville beat Yarra Junction in a close (hybrid!) game. Junction down on numbers but what they had went well. (These comments are as quoted by some Healesville people, I didn't see it)

Yarra Glen beat Mt Lilydale by 15 goals. Not great opposition so not really a good guide.

Mt.evelyn beat silvan by 7 goals, silvan people were saying they had 8 of there best 22 missing, Cowan dominated for the mountain men and was a clear bog.
Was there saw the first half, agree with Cowan being BOG played very well, Dalton looked good coming out of the sqaure & Mt Evelyns big blokes did well.
Was told Kane Shore, Brent Periera, Sean Toohey, Darcy Wale, Brad Wilson & Adam Newing were missing.
Good first half by both teams though, dont think Mt Evelyn will be as bad as most are saying.

Footy Rules, I think when you finish 8th and then lose Smith, Charge, Rowe, Barden, Martin, Noonan, Flethcher, Hancock and Stark - Plus fringe players X about 4 and a few questions have been raised about whether Buckland and Farrugia are playing - some people may start to think that they will struggle (I do). There outs would total almost 200 games of senior footy last year and clearly their 3 best players?

They would need to recruit VERY, VERY well to be competitive IMO. How much could you read into beating an undermanned Silvan?

How bout the other recruits beau? A lot has been said on here about the lads at mt evelyn. Who kicked the goals etc?

Cowan kicked 4 maybe and dalton sporting a Shaun rehn type knee brace 3 and murph a couple, certainly have not replaced what they have lost but Cowan dominated as mentioned above, there new centre half backed looked a likely type used the ball well but silvans lack of a key chf meant he rolled back a lot into frouds space, aswell as a on baller I believe is a cousin of the tessareiro (spelling up the piss I know) looked solid through the midfield! They had a lot of new faces mainly young kids which should hold them in good stead in saying that there biggest issue is in the ruck and midfield depth I believe
