It's like smoking, breastfeeding and prams should also be banned at restaurants. Even the playing field. If you want to breast feed you can, but do it outside with the smokers, and leave the pram at home.

What's wrong with breast feeding?

It's really just common sense isn't it though?

You poke your head in and if the only available seats are not suitable for a pram then move on. I have done this a few times. I'd feel like a w***er if I sat there with a pram blocking waiters and customers from doing their thing.

The other day I had a corker at Workshop in Elizabeth street. Two mates were having farewell drinks so we brought the baby (8 months) along as it was lunchtime sunday. No pram just parked the car and walked up there and it was probably about a quarter full. The waitress comes along and tells us that it's not their policy but that she didn't think it was appropriate for us to be there because they are firing up the bbq and it was unsafe  Plus there might be broken glass on the ground.

Stuff her, we stayed for a while and the miserable sod kept sooking.

If you have kids then going to high end restaurants is not for you. These parents need to respect other diners. Plenty of other places to go:

MacDonalds
Pubs
kid friendly restaurants

Can't believe people are so selfish and then complain about being discriminated against.

**** off to "family-land" and don't bother everyone else.

Where abouts is "family-land"? :D

Stupid complaint, why would try and take a baby to a fine dining restaurant anyway.

Have some courtesy towards the other diners who are paying for more than the food.

Prams in fine dining restaurants, no. I don't think its appropriate. The missus and I happily take our 2 youngens to family bistros etc.

Well I was planning on going out to lunch today with the wife and 7 week old but looks like ill have to fast track adoption over the next two hours before Im allowed to leave the house again so as not to annoy some plonker. What a ridiculous statement in the OP.

But where did you plan on going to? A high end restaurant where people pay for atmosphere and don't expect to be dining with crying kids? Or somewhere more family appropriate? I bet the latter. It's just not cool to take babies to certain places.

Of course not. Babies dont belong in high end restaurants.
