It would be a horrific look to try to overrule your club dr.

His club doctor isn’t telling him he has to take two weeks off he just declared he needed to come off the field , I mean the afl are all over the shop with concussion protocols in local football the afl have made it 21 days it’s ridiculous they seemed to have just picked a numberIt would be a horrific look to try to overrule your club dr.
Completely different situations the crows pretty much had no option but to accept would have been a terrible look morally to fight his ban . Stewart would be able to find reasonably easy a medical expert that would state he is in a fit condition to play, this rule hasn’t been around long plenty of precedents he could use of players in past and in other sports being cleared to play

The club dr ticked off that it was a concussion. His club doctor isn’t telling him he has to take two weeks off he just declared he needed to come off the field
Should have been done ages ago, the knee jerk reaction was the end of h&a bye.He won't be allowed to play in the GF but the AFL will probably bring in a pre GF bye now that a big name player will miss a GF.
The AFL love knee jerk reactions as much as they love byes.
What's weirder - the Richmond boards obsession with Stewart? Or Geelong fan's obsession with what the Richmond board says about Tom Stewart? Was not the thread topic I was expecting
Thought it was going to be about the Richmond forums classless commentary surrounding his injury.
Alas, he will miss and his misfortune will be Bews/Stanley's gain.
Grown men revelling in a players injury is unhinged. What's weirder - the Richmond boards obsession with Stewart? Or Geelong fan's obsession with what the Richmond board says about Tom Stewart?
Well sure, but choosing to go on an online forum seeking out the unhinged takes on said injury is in itself a little unhinged.Grown men revelling in a players injury is unhinged.
Was it Mathew Egan who got up for a Grand Final when he really shouldn't have played. Never played again and then took the AFL, Geelong and club doctors to court over it.People just have this response because it’s not visible like a broken leg. But the reality of concussion is pretty clear, the damage is there and he can’t play as a result.
It also makes sense on Brownlow night... how anti climactic is it when an interstate club wins the award over a zoom call? All week we will be hearing about this from Gerard Whateley the cats supporter, and im pretty sure hes been a big advocate of a pre-Grand Final bye
I mean they do it for the super bowl? and i think thats a 2 week gap...many media related and logistics reasons behind it due to the venue being rotated every year... but they are far more advanced in CTE science then australia and as such has worked as a blessing for any players in that 12 day concussion protocols.
In terms of tom stewarts incident its terrible and there is no way the AFL will change protocols even if the player signs a waiver (not to sue in the future if he gets concussed again in the GF etc) as i believe waivers are not worth the paper they are printed on.
99% sure the best case scenario is the AFL grow a brain and move the rest week from start of finals to the end of finals.
We should always strive to call out bad behaviour. Accountability is important.Well sure, but choosing to go on an online forum seeking out the unhinged takes on said injury is in itself a little unhinged.
Egan never played in a GF. I think he was AA CHB in 2007? Wrecked his foot. Was it Mathew Egan who got up for a Grand Final when he really shouldn't have played. Never played again and then took the AFL, Geelong and club doctors to court over it.
He was really good in your last premiership. He’ll play and Blicavs might go back.Opens up a spot for premiership hero Rhys 'Farmer' Stanley.
Not really, the Brownlow is a shit award anyway. It also makes sense on Brownlow night... how anti climactic is it when an interstate club wins the award over a zoom call?
fking AFL... run like a lemonade stand
