Even tho it was level the game honestly felt like it was never being played on our terms. We just couldn’t get it our style.

They seemed to have completely shut down our outside movement and transition from stoppages and HB. Dempsey was also tagged and taken to the cleaners by ah chee which was a smart move.
Dempsey was pretty good. I thought they did a better job of reducing Miers, Cameron (even pre-injury) and Stengle's impact. Mannagh wasn't bad but he wasn't the all-active force we needed him to be either. Their defenders have been superb at nullifying our forwards 4 of the past 5 games - 1 crazy 2nd quarter of the 2024 prelim aside.

He has never been AA level or an A grader so not sure what you mean? He is a solid B grade player at his best. Who do you wish with a fit team for him to replace in our back line?? I have him reserves if we are fully fit
He's the most reliable 1-1 key defender we have

An Irish friend who is a huge fan of Gaelic Football said Kobe McDonald, an 18-year-old Irish recruit the Saints have signed as a category ’B’ rookie, is something special.
And IIRC, Oisin Mullin was said to be the "Nick Daicos" of Gaelic football, and while he's improving at AFL, he's nowhere near Nick Daicos in ability. The lesson here is: Never believe the hype. Gaelic Football is very different from our game, and it takes time for these guys to learn AFL and adapt to an oval-shaped football.

Just on the captaincy front - if this is to be Dangers last season it might not be a bad thing
Each of the previous 4 captains have played their last game (for Geelong or forever) in a premiership

2007 Steven King - Last game for Geelong
2009 Tom Harley - Last Game
2011 Cameron Ling - Last Game
2022 Joel Selwood - Last Game
2026 Patrick Dangerfield???

I agree , he's been a great servant overall.
He has missed a huge amount of games and we have moved on with adding COS and Lawson to best 22 and have Hoffman to consider in the future.

King wasn't captain.

Double quote- who do you think he will replace in our current back line??
SDK who ends up rucking. Fairly straightforward

I wouldn't want to drop COS on his current development trajectory too but it's horses for courses on whether you want more loose intercept or 1-1 defending

Where did you get he said that from?? He said post game the entire opposite and that the coaches felt the entire time despite the scores being level the game was never played on our terms. They would have tried a lot tactically as he is known for throughout the industry. Not sure where you are getting contradicting stuff like this from. Scotty is known to more chess pieces around more than any other coach does. So I am not sure where you came to this conclusion from
From faulty memory about "Scores were Level"
and observation of nonchalant players in rooms.
Suggested some obvious moves... none were made
So what were the match winning moves Scott made?

My original post was about : No Post GF Game Review
Point being, Players learn more from a loss that a win.
Game Review is learning to not make same mistakes
Not for preparation of tactics for next encounter.
Also for closure. Put the game behind and move on.
Something Gryan mentioned as an ongoing issue.

So it was never said and you assumed then.

You made the claim Scott relies heavily on his players and sits back and isn’t a big tactician and just relies on his players to turn it around on their own, which is the entire opposite of what coaches who coach against him say, Sam Mitchell after eastern Monday said “ you have a headache after coaching against Chris Scott on gameday, trying to keep up with all the changes he makes”.

Dimma hardwick has also said similar, and Buckley is constantly on record saying how he is an elite tactical coach.

So there is really zero truth to what you are saying, it is actually the opposite

I think you play COS 100% of the time - we have had some amazing KPF's over the journey and I believe he will become another one when he's done.................

You want him in for development sure but right now he's not a 1-1 capable defender against big bodies. It's not apples and apples.

This was Merrick on Dec 7 - a quick Google search shows the weather in that region is single digits, with a high of 13c over the next 10 days

And 5 days later it's welcome to summer; bet a bit of sunscreen was used
